We were proud to be part of this vital conversation highlighting the pressures facing Australians in their middle years. The Bankwest Curtin Economics Centre (BCEC) research clearly shows the multiple pressures and conflicting demands many are experiencing. Helping people navigate life’s challenges is at the heart of what we do. If you or someone you know needs support, we’re here to help. 💙
What a day! We're taking a moment to reflect on the launch of our final report for the year, A Balancing Act: Life, work and connection in the middle years. Our new report finds Australians aged 35 to 55 are facing mounting pressures as they balance work, family and financial demands, with life satisfaction dipping to its lowest point in midlife. We had a meaningful panel conversation with Helena Jakupovic, General Manager of Financial Wellbeing Collective, Chris Kent, Founder of Talent Horizon Pty Ltd, Danielle Newport, CEO of Relationships Australia WA and report co-author Dr Daniel Kiely, in conversation with Nadia Mitsopoulos from ABC Radio Perth. We heard the brand-new research findings from BCEC's Dr Abebe Hailemariam and Dr Daniel Kiely and experienced a moving Welcome to Country from Robyn Whadjuk Ballardong Yorga Collard with her grandson Tryce Rioli on the didgeridoo. Bookending the event with their remarks were Taryn Hare, Executive Manager Brand and Marketing from Bankwest and Professor Alan Duncan, wrapping the proceedings, reflecting on both the report and year in research for BCEC. A special thanks to all our speakers and to everyone who took the time out of their busy schedules to attend our event.
