RSL Queensland recently attended the Queensland premiere of ‘Forged Under Fire’, a historical documentary about the Australian troops and Arab Revolt forces who fought alongside each other against the Ottoman Empire during World War I. The screening took place at The Southport School on the Gold Coast – an institution with a proud legacy of service. Distinguished guests attended from around the region, including RSL Queensland State Vice President Brigadier Arran Hassell CSC. Members of TSS’s Cadet Program were also in attendance, giving them an opportunity to learn more about this important chapter of ANZAC history. Australian Light Horse Association Queensland Director Kym Flehr was joined by Chris Rowen, Troop Commander of the 11th Light Horse Darling Downs, and his horse, Frazzle, at a wreath laying ceremony following the film.
