Keeping DEI discussions alive with SoundCloud ☁️ Code Pub, Netlight’s network for women and non-binary tech professionals, teamed up with SoundCloud at their Berlin office to invite engineers, developers, and students who belong to underrepresented genders in the male-dominated IT world. Event participants hopped into group workshops to analyse anonymised SoundCloud data, unveiling patterns in artist diversity and listener demographics. In addition to validating the impact of fresh perspectives, the discussions also explored inclusive recommendation engines. Creating safe spaces like these, where fellow tech enthusiasts from underrepresented genders can network and share experiences, is crucial to keeping conversations about discrimination alive.
