I usually respond with a light laugh, but the truth is that therapy is a highly skilled profession — one that requires clinical judgment, emotional intelligence, and deep self-awareness. Therapists are trained to listen, assess, intervene, and hold complex emotions — all while maintaining clear boundaries and ethical standards. The data is in: we are officially going backwards on mental health. Mind's new Big Mental Health Report should be mandatory reading for every leader. Key findings include: 💬 You’re 2.4x more likely to be promoted if your absences are for diabetes than for depression. 📉 The proportion of people willing to work with someone experiencing mental ill health has dropped, now lower than in 2009. 💼 And stigma still silences too many, not because people fear the illness, but because they fear the consequences. We don’t need more awareness - We need acceptance.
