Summary

Intruder-alert-systems are security technologies designed to detect and notify users about unauthorized access or suspicious activity in protected areas. These systems use sensors, cameras, or specialized cables to identify potential threats and trigger alarms or send instant notifications.

  • Define protected areas: Clearly outline where your system should monitor, whether it’s a restricted room, perimeter fence, or entire property, to maximize detection accuracy.
  • Choose notifications wisely: Select the alert method that suits your needs, such as smartphone messages, audible alarms, or automated app notifications, so you’re always in the loop.
  • Maintain your setup: Regularly test sensors, update software, and inspect all physical components to keep your intruder-alert-system reliable and responsive.

Project Description: Unallowed Area Surveillance System with YOLO and Telegram Integration * Overview: The Unallowed Area Surveillance System is a real-time security solution designed to detect unauthorized entry into restricted areas. Using the YOLOv8 object detection model, this system identifies intrusions and alerts the concerned authorities via a Telegram bot. The project is ideal for applications in security monitoring, where immediate response to unauthorized access is crucial. * Key Features: 1. Real-time Intrusion Detection: - The system utilizes YOLOv8 to detect specific objects (e.g., persons) entering a defined restricted area in a video feed. 2. Polygonal Region Definition: - Users can define the restricted area by drawing a polygon on the video frame using mouse clicks. This area is monitored for intrusions. 3. Alarm Trigger: - Upon detecting an unauthorized entry within the defined polygon, the system triggers an audible alarm using Pygame's sound capabilities. 4. Visual Alerts: - The system highlights the detected intruder with a red bounding box and displays a warning label on the video feed, indicating the presence of a potential threat. 5. Telegram Integration: - The system is integrated with a Telegram bot to send real-time alerts. When an intrusion is detected, the system captures the current video frame, saves it as an image, and sends it to a predefined Telegram chat. 6. Customizable Target Detection: - Users can specify which object classes (e.g., "person") the system should monitor for unauthorized access, enhancing its flexibility for different security scenarios. Technologies Used: - OpenCV: For video capture, image processing, and interaction with the video feed. - YOLOv8: The deep learning model employed for object detection. - Pygame: For handling the alarm sound upon intrusion detection. - Telepot: For integrating with Telegram to send alerts. - NumPy: For efficient numerical operations, particularly in defining and checking the restricted polygonal area. * Use Cases: - Monitoring and securing restricted areas like construction sites, warehouses, or private properties. - Enhancing security in sensitive locations such as museums, art galleries, or data centers. - Real-time alerting system for intrusions during off-hours in corporate or residential settings. 🔗(GitHub Code)[https://lnkd.in/dravyxqB] 🔗(Kaggle Code) [https://lnkd.in/d__YNSNs] #AI #ComputerVision #YOLOv8 #OpenCV #Python #DeepLearning #ObjectDetection #SecuritySystem #TelegramBot #MachineLearning #RealtimeDetection #Surveillance #Pygame #AIProjects #Automation #SmartSecurity

Fiber Optic Cable as Intruder Detection System. ✅️ Principle of Operation: 1️⃣ Signal Transmission: Fiber optic cables transmit light signals, usually from a laser or LED, through the core of the fiber. These signals travel in the form of light pulses, which are converted into data at the receiving end. 2️⃣ Sensing Mechanism: In an intruder detection system, the fiber optic cable is installed along fences, walls, or underground. The system detects disturbances or intrusions by monitoring changes in the light signal caused by physical interactions. 3️⃣ Disturbance Detection: When an intruder tries to climb a fence, dig near the cable, or tamper with it, the physical vibrations or pressure cause minute changes in the light signal. These changes are detected as: Attenuation: A reduction in signal intensity. Phase Shift: A change in the light wave's phase. Scattering: Variations in the light path caused by bending or stress. 4️⃣ Processing and Analysis: The disturbed light signals are analyzed by a Distributed Acoustic Sensing (DAS) system or other monitoring devices. Algorithms differentiate between normal environmental factors (e.g., wind or rain) and potential intrusions, reducing false alarms. 5️⃣ Alarm Generation: If the detected disturbance matches predefined intrusion patterns, the system generates an alarm and may provide the exact location of the intrusion using the time-domain reflectometry principle. ✅️Advantages of Fiber Optic Intrusion Detection Systems: Precision: Can pinpoint the exact location of an intrusion. Immunity to Interference: Unaffected by electromagnetic fields or radio frequencies. Scalability: Can cover long distances, making them ideal for large perimeters. Durability: Resistant to harsh environmental conditions. Applications: Perimeter security for critical infrastructure (airports, military bases). Pipeline monitoring to detect digging or tapping. Data centers and server rooms for detecting unauthorized access. also we can use the Optical Splitter to creat more than Zone, up to 16 Zones.
