Amid the ongoing social and economic changes, women in various regions of Indonesia face significant challenges in managing their families while also developing their entrepreneurial potential. YCAB Asia, together with PLUS, supports women’s empowerment by providing relevant education and access to practical skills, key elements in building resilient families and sustainable communities. In October 2025, a series of training programs and educational classes were organized to address these needs through an inclusive and adaptive approach aligned with current developments.
Strengthening Family and Community Foundations Through the Empowerment of Mothers
As part of efforts to enhance household economic resilience and women’s independence, Sanggar Anak Akar held financial literacy training and herbal drink (jamu) production workshops for 60 married women aged 25–50. The activities, conducted in October 2025 at Sanggar Anak Akar in East Jakarta, aimed to deepen participants’ understanding of household financial management and provide practical skills that could serve as capital to develop ultra-micro businesses within underserved communities.
The program was divided into two main sessions: a financial literacy session with case studies drawn from everyday life, and a jamu production session introducing Indonesian spices and hands-on herbal drink preparation techniques. Through this process, the mothers not only gained new knowledge but also built confidence and solidarity to strengthen their roles within their families and communities.
Empowering Class SHE.Verse 2025: Strengthening Women Through Financial Literacy, Mental Health, and Digital Transformation
Following the successful kick-off session in September, the SHE.Verse 2025 Program continued its series through the Empowering Class, hybrid sessions designed to strengthen women’s capacities across various fields. This initiative stems from the belief that women hold tremendous potential to drive change when given access, opportunities, and relevant knowledge.
Throughout October 2025, the SHE.Verse Empowering Class brought together experts from various sectors to discuss topics such as financial strategies and business development, mental health, and the use of digital technology for MSME actors. Through these interactive sessions, participants gained not only practical insights but also encouragement to build confidence and independence in navigating social and economic challenges in the digital era.
Building Children’s Character Through Parent Synergy
Supported by YCAB Asia and PLUS, the Rumah Penyuluhan Kreatif organized a training program titled Child Self-Development & The Role of Parents in Supporting Positive Values and Morals. This activity was designed to help children and parents understand positive values, morals, and the importance of parental involvement in a child’s development. The training was attended by children and parents at the Rumah Penyuluhan Kreatif (RPK) Recycling Community Hub in South Jakarta on Saturday, October 18, 2025.
During this program, participants took part in interactive sessions facilitated to strengthen collaboration and harmony between children and parents in building strong character and good morals. It is hoped that the program will encourage the creation of a generation of children with strong character and noble values supported by active parental involvement.
These programs demonstrate the transformational power of education, practical skills, and support networks. By equipping women with financial, entrepreneurial, and digital knowledge, while also strengthening parent–child relationships, YCAB Asia and PLUS are creating opportunities for sustainable growth. Together, we build resilient families and thriving communities.
