South Myall Catchment Landcare’s Grazing Naturally workshops empowered landholders to protect against drought. 🌾 A $10,170 Small Network Grant, funded by the Australian Government, supported the group to adopt a grazing system that improves soil health, ground cover and drought preparedness. Expert-led sessions and demonstrations were well-attended, with farmers eager to learn how controlled grazing and strategic paddock management can transform land resilience and profitability. The initiative sparked strong community engagement and practical change, with measurable improvements to pasture conditions in just six months. Congratulations to all of this year’s #ShineAwards finalists and winner who all do so much for their rural communities. A huge round of applause in particular for Louise Martin who we are proud and honoured to have on the FRRR (Foundation for Rural & Regional Renewal) #OutbackAdvisoryBoard Louise, your leadership, tenacity and impact is inspiring and very deserving of this recognition 👏🎉 Penny Fowler thank you for continuing to champion our rural communities and those who do so much; but are often invisible - the awards are a wonderful way to shine the spotlight on them. Last week the first named storm of the 2025–2026 cyclone season barreled through the Top End - impacting communities from Cape Don and across the Tiwi Islands, down to Berkley River Mouth in Western Australia. It is the biggest cyclone the Northern Territory has faced since Tracy in 1974, and now the earliest-season storm on record. Our thoughts are with everyone in the path of that storm - we know that you will have a long clean up and rebuild ahead of you. At FRRR, our focus is on strengthening the capacity of remote, rural and regional communities before, during and after events like this. As we gear up to support communities nationwide to prepare for the coming season, and to stand alongside those already beginning to assess the impacts, we’re inviting supporters to join our Regular Giving Circle. Your monthly contribution will help us ensure that flexible, on-the-ground assistance is available when and where it’s needed most. 🔗https://ow.ly/bkOw50XyRus #NTCyclone #CommunityRecovery #RuralAustralia #RegularGivingCircle #CommunityGrants #RuralPhilanthropy #DonatetoHelp #CycloneFina

It was great to host Warren Miller from Spinifex Foundation SA at our Bendigo office last week. There's nothing quite like spending time together in person to continue strengthening the connection we built through our partnership on the Aboriginal Health in Aboriginal Hands program. While there, Warren joined our weekly national team meeting, mesmerising everyone with the Foundation's journey as an emerging Indigenous-led philanthropic organisation. He shared many valuable insights about how, together, we can continue to support First Nations communities. So important to keep having these conversations, creating the time and the space, to keep listening and learning from each other. 💚 #FirstNationsCommunities #SelfDetermination #IndigenousLedPhilanthropy #LastingImpact

What gets in the way of generations leading together? Maybe habits, structures or expectations can make it hard to share knowledge and responsibility… or perhaps there’s something else entirely. 👂As you may recall, we’re developing a NextGen Blueprint for remote, rural and regional communities and we want to hear from you!
