We are pleased to present our FY25 Annual Report. In a year defined by both opportunity and challenges, HESTA continued to deliver Super with impact™ to our more than 1 million members, the majority of whom work in our critically important health and community services sectors. Despite market volatility in the latter half of FY25, our MySuper Balanced Growth investment option returned 10.18% in the year to 30 June. This investment option exceeded its 10-year investment objective, averaging an annual return of 7.64%, which ranks in SuperRatings’ top 10 peer funds over the 10-year period*. Looking forward beyond FY25, we have commenced a new three-year strategy that aims to provide more personalised experiences and opportunities that deliver greater value to members over the long-term. We intend to empower members to engage more fully with their super, continue to focus on delivering strong long-term investment returns, and support our members on their retirement journey. We're thrilled to announce the opening of Swift Walk in Kensington, alongside partners Assemble and Housing Choices Australia, aiming to help address Australia’s housing challenges. Swift Walk is a Build-to-Rent development that delivers 362 new homes, including 272 affordable and social apartments. Joanna’s career path reflects a deep passion for the superannuation industry and a commitment to continuous improvement. After commencing her career with Superpartners, Joanna has held a variety of roles across the industry, including Business Analyst, Insurance Specialist, Trustee Support Manager, Employer SuperStream Specialist, and Case Manager. Since joining HESTA over 2 years ago, Joanna has progressed from Member Care Representative to Member Care Specialist, consistently demonstrating fairness, empathy, and professionalism with every member interaction. The resolution delivered has consequently made a positive impact for many members. Terrific to see PayDay super legislation pass through Parliament this week. It’s another great example of a simple improvement to the system that will have real impact. This change means more timely super payments and compounding returns, especially for lower-paid, part-time, and casual workers who are typically the most impacted by unpaid super. It is these roles where women – who make up nearly 80% of HESTA members – are overrepresented. We see first-hand how unpaid super disproportionately affects those who dedicate their careers to caring for others. We have been preparing for the changes, to be ready for the 1 July 2026 commencement. We will continue supporting employers through this transition, which will help build a stronger, more equitable superannuation system for all Australians. #PayDaySuper #Superannuation

Key Stakeholder Relations Coordinator Jessica Strawbridge recently attended a powerful cultural training day at St John of God Langmore Centre in Berwick, representing HESTA as part of our ongoing partnership with St John of God Health Care. Jess joined hospital team members and leaders, including Lisa Carman, a ‘Swagging on Country’ participant, and Lisa Norman (CEO, St John of God South East Melbourne Hospitals), to learn more about the impact of the Swagging on Country cultural immersion program. This initiative deepens our understanding of First Nations culture and history, strengthens our relationships, and explores new ways to improve First Nations workplace engagement. We’re proud to support initiatives like Swagging on Country that bring our commitment to reconciliation to life, helping to create more inclusive, culturally aware workplaces.
