It's National Asbestos Awareness Week (NAAW) and this week is a reminder that when it comes to asbestos, the details matter. Three key steps every Australian should keep in mind: 1. 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸 𝗮𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗱. If your home was built before 1990, asbestos may be present. 2. 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗱. Asbestos related diseases cause around 4,000 deaths each year in Australia. 3. 𝗚𝗲𝘁 𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝘀𝗯𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗼𝘀 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹. When asbestos is involved, cheapest is never best. Your safety matters. NATA is a major supporter of NAAW and has accredited more than 120 asbestos testing facilities across Australia. #Asbestos #NationalAsbestosAwarenessWeek #NATA #Accreditation
