Swipe through for 5 facts about glossy black-cockatoos - the last one will really surprise you. Strangely, there have been no confirmed sightings of glossy black-cockatoos nesting in artificial nest boxes on Australia’s mainland, so our Saving our Species team is supporting Glossy Black Conservancy to look for info via a nationwide survey. We want to learn more about what’s been tried and tested in handmaking homes for glossies to inform recovery plans for these threatened birds. Have you installed nest boxes for glossies? 📢 We’re making NSW the easiest place in Australia to own an EV 🤩 We’re boosting charging infrastructure along iconic NSW road trip routes and at key tourism destinations to encourage EV drivers to explore NSW sustainably while supporting regional tourism. 159 new EV chargers will be rolled out over the next year as part of round 3 of our EV Destination Charging Grants. These chargers will be powered by 100% renewable energy and are in addition to thousands of EV charging points we’ve funded throughout the state. Discover approved and installed public EV charging points at https://lnkd.in/dVJi6bcf 👈

Our Bats in Backyards project is calling on citizen scientists to activate their bat signal and help protect Australia’s insect-eating bats. Volunteers will receive a bat detector to record the ultrasonic calls of these important native pest controllers. Unfortunately, half of NSW’s insect-eating bat species are under threat. The data helps scientists track bat populations and shape conservation strategies that could save species from extinction. With thanks to our Saving our Species program, in partnership with NSW Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development, Impact Ecology and Western Sydney University. No prior experience is necessary - and this will look great on your resume. Find out more: https://brnw.ch/21wXGEE #Bats #NSW #Conservation #NSWDCCEEW
