Congratulations to the 64 new constables who graduated from the QPS Academy in Brisbane last night. They're ready to begin their careers serving and protecting communities across Queensland.

Today we celebrate Grandparents Day, recognising the special and meaningful contributions grandparents bring to their families as well as to their communities. Among those making a difference are Senior Constable Craig Boles from the Queensland Police Service Dive Squad as well as Police Liaison Officers Moira Davis and Uncle Doug Peachey who continue to inspire through their service and care for others. Senior Constable Steve Omotosho says he has always wanted to be a police officer, even from a young age. He joined the Service in 2015 to give back to his community and make a difference in people’s lives. Before joining, he completed the Multicultural Recruit Preparation Pathway program, which is available to recruit applicants from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. He took a posting to Toowoomba shortly afterwards and has loved every minute since. Since making Toowoomba home, Senior Constable Omotosho has honed his skills in some unique hobbies, including plane-building, while raising his two children alongside his wife. The Queensland Police Service is looking for applicants who can provide the best policing service to the community and want to make a difference, people from all backgrounds and cultures, from across Queensland, nationally and internationally. As a First Nations Police Liaison Officer, you will assist in developing trust and understanding, between members of the Queensland Police Service and wider community, with particular focus to local First Nations communities.
