🚧 Beefing up Central Queensland 🐂 Construction has officially begun on the $500 million Queensland Beef Corridors Program, a result of strong collaboration between the Australian and Queensland Governments, local Central Queensland councils and industry. Under the $47.5 million early works package, work is underway to seal a priority section of the Clermont–Alpha Road in the Barcaldine region. Last week, the Australian and Queensland governments released the Central Queensland Beef Roads Investment Strategy. The strategy outlines a 10-year plan to improve transport efficiency, safety, and resilience for the region’s world-class beef industry by upgrading and sealing critical sections of freight routes spanning an area the size of Great Britain. This is a huge win for producers, transport operators, and local communities in the region, delivering: ✅ Stronger supply chains ✅ Safer roads ✅ Boosted economic opportunities A special thanks to the Queensland Beef Corridors group, made up of seven Central Queensland councils, for their advocacy in driving this initiative forward. Together, we’re building a stronger, safer, and more connected Central Queensland! 🔗 Learn more about the Queensland Beef Roads program: https://brnw.ch/21wXT4y The program is jointly funded by the Australian Government #AusGovInfra and the Queensland Government.

Creating a single integrated network accessible to everyone.
About us
We are a department of more than 8,800 employees across the state. Our vision is to create a single integrated network accessible to everyone. No department has a bigger role to play in keeping the Queensland of today moving, or in helping build for the future. Each year we have more than 3.6 million face-to-face interactions with Queenslanders and more than 6.7 million transactions using online service channels. We are responsible for around 80 percent of all government counter transactions. We are an exciting place to work, with an enormous scope of work incorporating 79 different occupational areas. Every day Queenslanders rely on the transport network to get them to work, to school, and to health care. As the most decentralised state in Australia, transport is a key driver of economic growth, and we are at the front line of planning, developing and maintaining the extensive network required to keep Queensland moving. We lead emerging technologies so our transport network meets the needs of our customers now and into the future. We deliver our core business through four key services: • Transport system investment planning and programming – focused on developing policy frameworks for the future development of the transport system and to plan and prioritise strategic investment in effective, efficient and sustainable integrated transport infrastructure, systems and services • Transport infrastructure management and delivery – focused on constructing, maintaining, managing and operating an integrated transport network accessible to all • Transport safety, regulation and customer service – focused on improving customer service and managing and regulating the transport system safely, economically and sustainably and without imposing unnecessary red tape • Passenger transport services – focused on leading and shaping Queensland’s overall passenger transport system. Ultimately, we bring Queensland closer together.

You spin me right round! 🚆💫 One of the components that will enable the Queensland Train Manufacturing Program (QTMP) fleet to be built is the rail turntable! This groovy device is a 3.6-metre diameter platform that will precisely rotate the train bogies during manufacturing. Located at the purpose-built Torbanlea train manufacturing facility, the turntable will improve worker safety by allowing movement and positioning of the bogies under the carriage, avoiding more hazardous lifting operations. It’s a solution that will keep the project on a roll! Take a look at where the turntable will be located with a virtual tour of the manufacturing facility 👉 https://brnw.ch/21wXMYJ #QTMP #QueenslandTrainManufacturingProgram #FraserCoast #Trains

In a first for state-controlled roads in Far North Queensland, specially designed barriers will be installed along sections of the Captain Cook Highway impacted by debris flows from Tropical Cyclone Jasper. 🚧 The barriers are designed to catch solid debris while allowing water to flow freely into culverts and drains. This reduces the potential for long term road closures at these sites during and after extreme weather. 🌧️ The recovery works are jointly funded by the Australian and Queensland Governments through the Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA). #TMR #CaptainCookHighway

The Queensland Train Manufacturing Program (QTMP) will build 65 new six-car passenger trains at a purpose-built manufacturing facility at Torbanlea in the Fraser Coast region. Once manufacturing begins in 2026, QTMP trains will benefit from: 👷♀️👷♂️ Local expertise: The floor, walls and roof and bogies of each train will be built by a local workforce to meet the highest standards in design and performance. Each bogie frame is made from more than 100 individual parts. ✅ Rigorous testing: Before entering service, every train undergoes water ingress and dynamic testing on specially laid tracks. ♿ Enhanced accessibility: Feedback from our co-design process with the disability sector has shaped the design to ensure the QTMP trains will be the most accessible trains in Queensland when in service.
