Thanks City of Sydney for coming out to see how Re.Group manages recyclables at our Enfield MRF, and for spreading the word that all the good stuff in people's recycling bins is absolutely recycled back into new products!
What actually happens to everything you put in your yellow lid bin? In our area, it all heads to the Re.Group Enfield Recycling Facility. Here's how your recycling is sorted, divided and made ready for processing. Fascinating stuff, right? [Video description: Video opens with a woman in a hi vis vest and white hard hat sitting on a cube of compressed aluminium cans. She speaks to camera. From there, footage is shown of recycling being processed in a heavy industrial setting. Recycling is tipped from a truck, then scooped onto a conveyor belt by a bulldozer. Men in orange hi-vis shirts sort recycling as it moves along a conveyor belt. Material is shown being tumbled in large cylinder. A large rectangle of compressed cardboard is transported by forklift. Broken glass is shown moving through machines and then onto a series of conveyor belts, before being deposited into huge piles.]
