WINNERS 👏🏆 Our Preventative Health Unit’s Flip The Vape campaign has scooped up a #VPHAwards in the Excellence in Aboriginal Health and Wellbeing category 🖤💛❤️ “Using behavioural science, co-design with 11 ACCHOs and 11 Aboriginal ambassadors, and rollout across youth-first platforms like TikTok and Snapchat, the campaign flipped negative messaging into bold, empowering storytelling,” the judging criteria said. “It reached over one million young people, sparked a quitting movement, and set a new standard for culturally relevant, community-driven public health campaigns that will soon be extended to more states across Australia.” Thank you to our TIS workers across the state, @moworks and our dedicated ambassadors for your vital role in this wind and more importantly, Community-led preventative health campaign 🚭

VAHS' Preventative Health Unit The Koori Way are keeping busy with term 4 school visits 🏫 After the successful launch of the postcard activity at recent Community events, the team is bringing it to schools, most recently, at WORAWA ABORIGINAL COLLEGE ✉️ Students each wrote their own personal message to the tobacco industry, telling them they won't be their future customer, and to stop killing Mob with their product 🚭 The Koori Way then sends these postcards to industry, inundating them with thousands of messages to hold them to account 📮 This is just one way we are doing Community engagement with a difference 🖤💛❤️
