Today I got to attend the Google DevFest in Toronto as part of BYTE. It was an amazing opportunity to talk about BYTE, our project, vision and the work that we do. Thank you Google Developer Group (GDG) Cloud Toronto for the opportunity to attend, learn and network with fellow developers and students. This weekend, I had the opportunity to attend Google Developer Group DevFest Toronto 2025, which was my very first time participating in such a large scale tech conference. It was such an eye-opening and inspiring experience. One insight that stayed with me was from Naveen Nigam who highlighted that early-career professionals should never be intimidated. Surrounded by so many talented engineers, developers, and innovators, I felt encouraged rather than overwhelmed, and more motivated than ever to learn, grow. Furthermore, Ugo U. shared some thought-provoking perspectives on the industry future: 🔹“Trust is the new currency in agent-to-agent adoption” 🔹Security challenges from past systems will remain in the future and is pressing to address 🔹And most importantly, start with the customer use case and work backwards to build agents These ideas deeply resonated with and inspired me, especially as I have been exploring topics of cybersecurity and AI ethics in my recent projects. I met fantastic people from the international tech community, great exchanges around AI, Cloud, and building real products. I live in Azerbaijan 🇦🇿, so it was especially meaningful to represent my country. He explained how blockchain creates transparency and security, AI brings real-time intelligence, and cloud provides the scale that ties it all together. The way he connected these technologies made the future of digital systems feel not just exciting — but achievable. Went to GDG DevFest Toronto 2025 this weekend, and it turned out to be a great event with a lot to take away. The most interesting part for me was the focus on AI agents. The keynotes laid out where things are heading and how these systems will fit into real products. It was clear, practical, and gave me a lot to think about as someone who’s been building small tools and apps on the side. The workshop track was solid as well. We: • Used the Gemini CLI to build a Gmail add-on with AI image generation • Set up Gemini Enterprise through a Google Skills Lab Outside the sessions, I had a good conversation with one of the speakers about how to approach upskilling in DevOps — what’s worth focusing on, and how to build a path that actually moves you forward. That alone made the day worthwhile. Overall, the event lined up well with what I’ve been working on lately, and it was a boost of inspiration at the right time. Spent the day at Google #DevFest in Toronto, diving into practical sessions around Google’s #Gemini ecosystem. You could feel the shift in how we’ll build, reason, and ship products in the coming years. The workshop I joined pushed that even further. We didn’t just “learn a tool”; we explored how #Gemini reshapes what developers can attempt in the first place.
