When pixels align with real-world coordinates, comparisons across time remain reliable and meaningful. Even small spatial shifts can be mistaken for environmental change. With precise co-registration and orthorectification by Pinkmatter Europe on the geometric side, and radiometric and LST processing by constellr, the scene reflects the true spatial structure of the landscape. SkyBee-1 captures Svalbard at 30 m in the thermal bands and 10 m in the optical bands. The paired view highlights how temperature varies across ice, rock and water, offering a valuable layer for understanding environmental dynamics in this rapidly changing region. By combining daytime and nighttime LST, we can observe the real dynamics of urban environments: how energy is consumed, how people move, and how natural features regulate heat. This week’s day–night thermal pair over Osaka (Day: 29 Oct 2025 | Night: 1 Nov 2025) highlights these patterns with exceptional clarity. 🌙 Night: The wider Dotonbori entertainment district emerges as a clear hotspot, shaped by dense urban surfaces, narrow street geometry, and concentrated evening activity. ☀️ Day: The same district shifts to a coldspot, shaded by tall buildings and showing reduced energy use, while other commercial zones warm up as activity moves across the city. Water bodies such as the Dotonbori Canal and nearby rivers retain heat well into the night and remain noticeably cooler than surrounding concrete during the day. Green spaces like Osaka Castle Gardens provide stable cool zones throughout the daily cycle, driven by vegetation cover and evapotranspiration. These contrasts underline how thermal intelligence reveals the true rhythm of a city: from the cooling influence of green and blue infrastructure to the intensity of human activity in entertainment and commercial districts. Day–night monitoring provides the continuous, decision-ready insight required for urban planning, energy management, and climate resilience. Through our ISR-as-a-Service model, nations gain direct and secure access to high-resolution thermal data, enabling continuous, all-weather intelligence without the need for additional infrastructure. It was an honour to see our work contribute to a vital discussion on how Europe can strengthen strategic autonomy while fostering closer cooperation between government, industry, and research. This year’s INTERGEO Expo and Conference marked a major milestone for us: 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞, we showcased calibrated thermal data from our SkyBee-1 satellite.
