Body Esteem Program (BEP)

Our Body Esteem Program is WA’s only community-based eating disorder service with a focus on peer support.

We offer a safe space for all individuals impacted by eating disorders to make informed decisions about their health and wellbeing, and provide hope that recovery is possible.

Our services are facilitated by people with lived experience of an eating disorder and subsequent recovery or have been in a support role. They share their knowledge, and experience where appropriate, to enhance understanding and support.

We also offer art therapy, dietitian support and medical monitoring with a nurse practitioner.

ANBN Group (Anorexia/Bulimia Nervosa)

Youth Program

This program focuses on eating disorder education, creating a positive sense of self, and exploring recovery and motivation to change. The group is open and ongoing, so you can join at any time after an assessment.

Online Program

A free, 12-week guided program for people aged 16+ who are experiencing Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, Binge Eating Disorder, or Other Specified Feeding or Eating Disorders. The program is designed to offer support to people living in regional and remote parts of WA, or for those who experience barriers to attending in-person services. Online modules are completed individually and discussed during fortnightly peer support sessions, and everyone is welcome to attend the 2x monthly online group to meet, connect and be supported by others.

Supporters and Carers

If you are a family member, friend or carer of someone experiencing an eating disorder, it’s important for you to feel supported and well-resourced. Our services are designed to help you navigate the journey with the person you love or care for.

The programs will give you information, resources and psychoeducation around the nature of eating disorders, and provide opportunity for you to feel understood, validate and empowered to continue in your vital role as an ally.

We offer three options for supporters:

  • Youth Carers/Support Program: We deliver weekly informative sessions online and in-person for parents, partners and carers who are supporting someone under 21 years old. The group is open and ongoing, so you can join at any time.
  • Weekly and Monthly Coffee Meetings: An opportunity to connect with other supporters face-to-face or online, who have/had a loved one experience an eating disorder. This conversation-led group meets on the last Wednesday evening of each month and is facilitated by our peer workers.
  • Carer Workshop: Parent/Partner Education and Support Program (PESP) is a one-day informative workshop for family members, partners, friends and carers who have a loved one with an eating disorder.

Clinical support

We know that an eating disorder affects every aspect of health. We’re proud to now offer support beyond the powerful model of peer workers, as our team now includes three clinicians.

  • Nutritional support: with our Accredited Practicing Dietitian who uses a size-inclusive model, holistic perspective, and is a Butterfly-approved practitioner.
  • Art therapy: to explore and process their eating disorder and associated experiences, individually and in group settings.
  • Nurse Practitioner for screening, assessments, and medical monitoring.
