embarc is where future founders meet. Side-hustlers, deep thinkers, vibe coders, closet creatives, come together.

About us

Right now, there’s a large group of young people working across corporations & start-ups interested in building ideas of the future. From side-projects to hustles, creator content to full-blown businesses, these young people are ambitious & creative. They often have deep interests & passions besides their day jobs. However, many young people don’t know where to start. It’s hard to work out how to start building a project or a start-up. It’s harder still to find co-founders or collaborators - others who want to build too, but don’t have a network to draw on. Introducing, Embarc. An events-focused community breaking down network & informational barriers and enabling the next generation of founders to build together.

How do you know if your side hustle is the next Bumble… or the next Beeble? (Never heard of Beeble? Exactly.) If you want to know which camp you’re in, here’s the quickest way to find out: • Can you get one real person excited enough to try it? • Do you know what problem actually keeps them up at night? • Have you shown them something they can react to, even if it’s ugly? • Did you ask them to pay, and watch what they actually do? • And… did you listen hard enough to change direction if you were wrong? That’s validation. Not vibes. Not hypotheticals. Not “my friends said they’d use it.” Before you start building the next unicorn, make sure you’re not quietly raising a Beeble. Side hustles aren’t a guessing game. Validate, then build.

Know someone who should be a founder (even if they don’t know it yet)? Tick the boxes: 🔲 Always pitching ideas at dinner 🔲 Has a side project they secretly take VERY seriously 🔲 Obsessed with solving problems or fixing broken systems 🔲 Plays connector in every group they’re in 🔲 Feels stuck in a job that’s way too small for them If you’ve ticked even 3 out of 5… We have a home for them. embarc by OPUS is now live and it's a specifically built for the next generation of founders. Tag them in the comments. Let’s bring them home.

    Hire #1 @ Jack & Jill | Founder @ embarc (acquired)

embarc, the go-to community for tomorrow’s founders, is officially joining forces with OPUS. Which is incredibly exciting 🔥 When I first brought together the embarc founding team, I wanted to support the next generation of founders & innovators building some of the highest-potential companies in London and beyond. That said, when things don’t go to plan, I know firsthand just how tough the founding journey can be. Rather than just flashy success stories, embarc has always been all about the challenges. We wanted to build a crucial support system – a place to build confidence, knowledge & network – for all aspiring founders. It’s amazing to see the community has had a genuinely meaningful impact. Over the last 2–3 years, we… – Held 30+ amazing events in London & Berlin with Notion Capital, Entrepreneurs First, Antler, Zinc, Dawn Capital, Google, Snowflake, Sifted, MMC Ventures, Heartfelt, BNVC, Atlantic Labs, DFF and more – Helped a dozen start-ups get off the ground, with co-founders meeting for the first time at our events – Supported exceptional founding teams into raising buzzy seed rounds And when I opened the conversation with Sam and Ken at OPUS, it was immediately clear to me just how mission-driven they are. The team at OPUS want to build a better, more dynamic and supportive world for founders & innovators – and they won’t stop until they do. I’m thrilled about the impact we’ve had. I’m even more thrilled we’ll be taking this to the next level, together. A big thank you to the current team Ryan, Dev & Liz; our former team members Issie, Ronan, Henry, Marie-Caroline, Arjun, Olivia & Vanesa; and my co-founders, Daniel & Matt – who built embarc from the ground up. And to our most vocal champion, Chris – we couldn’t have done it without you 💚 I’ll be continuing to build embarc part-time with the OPUS family – more incredible events to come. Watch this space!

We’re unlocking a new chapter: embarc has officially joined forces with OPUS, a global community built to help founders go further, faster, together. We’ve always been aligned in what we’re building. embarc exists to help future founders take their first leap. OPUS is designed to support the next steps - to grow, scale, and surround themselves with the right people. Different stages, same mission: back bold ideas with real momentum. Bringing us together just made sense. And this is only the beginning.

What does it take to build and scale an AI-powered startup in 2025? On Wednesday, Embarc hosted an insightful discussion in collaboration with Taylor Wessing, diving deep into the opportunities, challenges, and realities of AI-driven startups. Huge thanks to our brilliant host, Gerard Frith (Entrepreneur in Residence / Innovation Director at Taylor Wessing), and our absolutely stellar panel for sharing their expertise: 🚀 Edward Keelan – Partner at Octopus Ventures 🚀 Elinor Picton – Partner at Taylor Wessing 🚀 Fergus Dyer-Smith – Founder & CEO of Wooshii 🚀 Cien S. – Co-Founder & CEO of LaunchLemonade🍋 And a massive thank you to our audience for prompting such insightful discussion during the panel Q&A. And what did we talk about, you ask? Well...the demise of mid-2000s robo advisors, niche marketing wrapper apps for pet stores, philosophical ponderings of "what even counts as a co-founder these days?", and the crazy venture valuation rollercoaster we've been witnessing over the past five years. And that's just the tip of the conversational iceberg. 👀 If that piques your interest – and better yet – if you're already working on an idea, come join us at our next event. Subscribe to our Luma calendar to stay tuned. Link 👇 Let's go 🚀 🚀 🚀
