This fall, Girls on the Run of the Greater Chesapeake gave over 1,200 girls the tools to dream big, build confidence and support one another—ending with a 5K that is a celebration of growth. A healthier community starts when we show up—with care. Last month, we hosted our inaugural CareFirst Community Health Fair in partnership with Events DC at CareFirst Arena, and we’re proud to share the impact we made for neighbors in the District. Together with partners, we connected residents to essential resources—health care resources, fresh food, metro cards and more. These were real resources that make access to care possible. By the numbers: • 25+ community partners participated • 47 CareFirst #DifferenceMakers volunteered over 200 hours • United Planning Organization served 100+ hot meals • Dreaming Out Loud, Inc. provided 6,300 lbs. of fresh produce • 32 flu shots administered by Giant Pharmacy (Giant Food) Because care isn’t just what we do—it’s how we show up for each other. #CareFirstCares

Each year, our employees across Maryland, Washington, D.C. and West Virginia come together for the American Heart Association Heart Walk—a tradition of heart healthy movement, giving back and making a difference together. This year, more than 400 #DifferenceMakers joined, raising nearly $75,000 to support heart health, prevention and lifesaving research. Every step reflected our belief that caring for our communities means showing up, with heart, as partners and advocates for healthier lives and stronger connections. We’re proud to stand with the American Heart Association and everyone working to build stronger, healthier communities—one step at a time. #CareFirstCares #HeartWalk #CommunityHealth #Volunteerism

At CareFirst, we’re committed to supporting community health by addressing food insecurity year-round. Our nearly $250,000 investment in Anne Arundel County Food Bank, Capital Area Food Bank and Maryland Food Bank builds on longstanding partnerships to expand access to nutritious food and break down barriers to health. With the need for food assistance continuing to rise across our region, this work is even more urgent. By supporting these organizations, we’re helping them reach more families in the months to come, strengthen their programs and respond to both immediate and ongoing needs. Today on Veterans Day, we pause to honor the incredible service and sacrifice of our veterans and military families in our communities. At CareFirst, supporting those who have served is more than a responsibility—it’s a privilege we embrace every day. We partner with Hiring Our Heroes to bring talented veterans to our organization, and our Military & Veterans Employee Resource Group (MVRG) offers resources, mentorship and a strong community to help veterans thrive as they transition to civilian life. This Veterans Day, our MVRG hosted “Bridging the Gap: Navigating the Military to Civilian Journey,” a panel event where veterans, leaders and partners shared their experiences and advice for building successful careers after service. We’re committed to creating an environment where the unique skills and perspectives of veterans are valued and celebrated. Thank you to all who serve and continue to make a difference. #CareFirstCares #VeteransDay2025

We'll keep illuminating our workplace and beyond with positivity and unity. #CareFirstCares #Diwali2025
