Supporting Health Through Nutrition! Chrysalis Center thanks Petit Family Foundation for helping Chrysalis launch the “Healthy Food Boxes for Chronic Condition Management” pilot program. This initiative will provide 20 participants with monthly curated food boxes filled with fresh produce, whole grains, lean proteins, and nutrient-rich items that support immune health and medication adherence. While funding covers housing and essential services, it does not include nutrition - yet nutritious food is critical for managing chronic conditions. This program will help clients reduce food insecurity, improve health outcomes, and build more stable, healthy lives. Investing in nutrition is investing in wellness. Thank you Petit Family Foundation!

Did you know? Hydroponics - literally “working water” - allows us to grow fresh, nutritious plants without soil! The Urban Roots Hydroponics Grow Center at Chrysalis Center, cultivates lettuce, kale, collards, bok choy and more, in our horizontally grown NFT channels and vegetables like tomatoes, hot / sweet peppers and cucumbers in a state-of-the-art 100-Dutch Bucket hydroponic room. This fresh and health year-round produce fuels our La Cocina Catering and is shared with the community through Freshplace and the Homestead Farmers’ Market, helping to improve health and access to fresh food in Hartford’s food desert, and is an important tool in helping to end food insecurity in our communities. Fresh, healthy, and community-focused — thanks to your support!

Celebrate the holidays with the Travelers Chorale at their “Colors of the Season” concert on December 17, 2025, from 7:30–9:00 pm at The Bushnell. Enjoy an evening of festive music and community spirit. Admission is *FREE* with your donation of nonperishable food to benefit Chrysalis Center, Inc. Freshplace Food Pantry, supporting families in need throughout Hartford. Established in 1924, the Travelers Chorale is the oldest company-affiliated choir in the country. What began as a small group of employees singing Christmas carols on Travelers’ WTIC radio station has evolved into an annual holiday tradition, with performances at the prestigious Bushnell Theater since the 1930s. Each year, more than 100 employee-singers come together to share their talents and bring a magical evening of music to the community. Click here to learn more: https://lnkd.in/egWGbFk6

It was a beautiful October day at our Food Forest at Cosgrove Commons! A wonderful team of volunteers from Nassau Financial Group spent the morning weeding, mulching, edging beds, and tackling other garden maintenance projects to help keep Food Forest thriving. 💪🌱 After all their hard work, Nassau Financial Group hosted a delicious BBQ lunch for Cosgrove Commons residents donating all the funds for the food so everyone could enjoy this special outdoor meal together. 🍔🌽 Chrysalis is grateful to our friends at Nassau Financial Group for your time, energy, and compassion. Thank you for making a difference in our gardens and in the lives of those we serve! 💚 #ThankYou #CommunityPartners #VolunteerAppreciation #ChrysalisCenter #NassauFinancialGroup #FoodForest
