The mission of Citizens of the World Los Angeles (CWC LA) is to provide a socio-economically, culturally, and racially diverse community of students in Los Angeles with an intellectually challenging, experiential learning environment that develops each student's confidence, potential, and individual responsibility as citizens of the world. CWC schools: •Service a socioeconomically, culturally, and racially diverse community •Develop students’ social and emotional skills to prepare them to become citizens of the world in an ever-changing future •Promote academic rigor through a constructivist, project-based learning approach, to support and develop children’s natural intellectual curiosity CWC LA enrolls a diverse student body that reflects the abundant diversity of the communities served by our schools.

Yesterday, Citizens of the World Los Angeles Student Programs Team, representing CWC Silver Lake, CWC Mar Vista, CWC Hollywood, and CWC West Valley, participated in a productive #teambuilding and #facilitation professional development day. To show our gratitude for their hard work and collaboration, we organized a surprise team outing as a way to celebrate their efforts and strengthen our community bonds.
CWC LA was recently featured in the Bridges Collaborative study that explored the impact of intentionally diverse schools like ours. "Racial and socioeconomic integration is a key component of quality education. Integration creates one of the most promising pathways for resource equity and is linked to a host of short- and long-term benefits, from stronger test scores to improved health outcomes in adulthood. Learning with and from people of all walks of life is also an essential experience for encouraging the creativity, empathy, and cultural competence that we need in our citizens and leaders." https://lnkd.in/eXrGdYtj
