Steady progress at Independence House as interior finishes take shape and exterior work moves toward completion. Flooring, trim, paint and finish MEPs are underway, along with drainage, site lighting and final paving prep. Once complete, the new single story Counseling and Resource Center will provide support spaces and ten offices for the Independence House team. Progress continues at Cummins Hwy in Roslindale, where our team is moving forward with exterior siding, interior finishes, and site hardscape. This 50,000 SF development will include 49 modern residential units. Designed with sustainability in mind, the building features an all-electric, high-efficiency heating and cooling system, a highly efficient lighting design, solar-ready infrastructure, and landscaping with native, drought-tolerant plantings. As part of their monthly deep-dive session, our Estimating Team stepped out of the meeting room and into the field for a visit to Marion St and Verge. Both projects are well underway, and the project teams provided an excellent walkthrough of the systems, sequencing, and details shaping each build. Alongside our estimators, Corey Heaslip, CPHB (VP of Project Development), Chris Thompson, LEED AP (Director of Preconstruction), and Jonathan Walker (Director of Business Development) joined the visit, taking the opportunity to see how the work that begins in bidding and preconstruction evolves on site. These visits strengthen alignment, expand technical knowledge, and keep our estimators closely connected to the projects they help bring to life. In this edition of Cape Focus, we’re in Brewster at the future site of Spring Rock Village, our upcoming collaboration with Preservation of Affordable Housing, Housing Assistance, and UNION. Housing on the Cape continues to be a challenge, which is why projects like Spring Rock matter. As we look ahead, we also recognize the progress made through LeClair Village and Brewster Woods, recent collaborations with POAH and HAC that expanded affordable, high-efficiency housing for year-round residents. A proud day in Swansea as we joined town officials, community members, and the project team to celebrate the ribbon cutting of the newly expanded Swansea Public Library. What began as a 3,700 SF historic building has now transformed into a 19,000 SF modern facility designed to serve the community for generations to come. The expansion includes new mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, full ADA compliance, flexible community spaces, study and tutoring rooms, and enhanced technology throughout: all while preserving the library’s original façade. We’re honored to have served as the General Contractor on this project and grateful for the collaboration with the Town of Swansea, Pomroy Associates, and Johnson Roberts Associates.
