DHL Supply Chain has expanded its collaboration with AI startup HappyRobot after an 18-month trial period, deploying autonomous agents that manage communications through phone, email, WhatsApp, and SMS. The system processes hundreds of thousands of emails and millions of voice call minutes yearly, handling tasks like appointment scheduling, driver coordination, and warehouse communications without human intervention. DHL's CIO Sally Miller emphasized the technology frees employees from administrative work to focus on complex problem-solving. The company views this as crucial for talent retention in a tight labor market, making logistics roles more engaging by eliminating repetitive tasks while improving service consistency. • Our deployment team had an amazing onsite working on an implementation with JEAR Logistics, LLC team, Dawson Smith, Travis McLeod, & Mark Allen! ⚡ A HappyRobot deployment team = DS (deployment strategist) + FDE (forward deployed engineer). DSs are experts in gaining a deep understanding of the core problems to be solved and architecting a deployment that solves those problems. FDEs are experts in leveraging HappyRobot’s AI orchestration platform to build custom AI workers that handle mission-critical operations at scale. An absolutely critical part of our implementations is sending a deployment team to our customers’ offices to sit side by side with operations and technology teams with one goal in mind: ensure we’re delivering real value for our partners. As Dawson shared, this in person collaboration with both teams is a huge accelerator for deployments and time to impact. We’re incredibly grateful for partners like JEAR for their dedication in making this implementation a success. We couldn’t be more proud to support all of the amazing work you do every day & are excited to continue building great things together! 🚀

I’m thrilled to share something new: the first-ever HappyRobot Hackathon in Madrid, happening on Thursday, December 4, and co-organized with Cursor. • We are incredibly excited to officially announce our partnership with DHL. 🚚 DHL Supply Chain has already successfully utilized HappyRobot's AI workers across several regions and use cases, targeting hundreds of thousands of emails and millions of calls annually across workflows including appointment scheduling, driver follow-up calls, and high-priority warehouse coordination. Sally Miller, CIO DHL Supply Chain, shared that integrating AI agents has helped to "drive greater process efficiency for customers while making operational roles more engaging and rewarding for employees by automating repetitive and time-consuming tasks such as manual data entry, routine scheduling, and standardized communications." We're continuing to test and expand impact with additional use cases across DHL Group and couldn't be more grateful to work with such a truly inspiring and innovative organization. ❤️💛 https://lnkd.in/eWxKzYNc

    AI Engineer @ Circle Logistics

HappyRobot's winning advantage over all the other AI startups you see at freight conferences is execution. Taher Poonawala and Adrian V. with HappyRobot flew all the way from San Francisco to Florida to build out our existing use cases, and HappyRobot’s custom, efficient UI means that when ideas are pitched, we can build them — and fast. What happens if you combine that with having the CEO of our TMS, Transport Pro, in town to build out necessary endpoints quickly? Well, we were able to get a month of work done in two days. When it comes to new tech in freight, you have to move quickly — and avoid getting bogged down in simple requests that take months because your TMS is unresponsive and and uncaring about new use cases or your AI integration isn’t tailored to your business. It was a pleasure to sit down for a couple days with Andrew Smith, Taher Poonawala, Adrian V., and Kenneth Kloeppel and build some great stuff together -- this is why we use TransportPro and HappyRobot.

Most customer discovery fails because customers are terrible at articulating what they need. They've normalized broken processes for so long, they don't even see them as broken anymore. You ask about pain points. They give you surface-level complaints that miss the real problems. The result: You build for perceived problems, not the ones actually killing them. The only way to build something people desperately need? Stop being a founder. Become one of them. This isn't about scheduling customer calls or sending surveys. It's about sitting next to someone doing their job for weeks until you feel their frustration in your bones. I talked to Pablo Palafox, Co-founder / CEO of HappyRobot ($60M+ raised from a16z), about this. Early on, he spent weeks sitting next to logistics operators, watching them make the same phone call forty times a day. Not interviewing them. Living it. Feeling the exhaustion from manual processes. Seeing the workarounds they didn't even recognize as workarounds anymore. "You have to be embedded in the customer. You have to fly over to them... become one of them." Here's what happens when you embed yourself: • You see the spreadsheet they maintain because the "official" system doesn't work • You notice they print emails to read them (and understand why) • You feel the moment their energy dies at 3 PM from repetitive tasks • You catch the micro-frustrations they've accepted as normal Most founders treat customer discovery like journalism: quick interviews, documented insights, move on. That's why most startups build things nobody wants. When you connect with potential customers, get off Zoom. Book a flight. Sit at their desk. Use their terrible software. Feel their actual pain. The formula is simple. It's just uncomfortable. Stop theorizing about customer problems from your WeWork. Start living them. Enjoyed this? Then listen to the full episode with Pablo on the focal podcast (LINK IN COMMENTS)

The FDE model that Palantir made famous is bankrupting startups that blindly copy it. If you can’t scale your customers from $30K to $3M, your engineer costs will soon kill you. Pablo Palafox, the co-founder of HappyRobot ($60M+ raised from a16z, YC, Base10) knows this, having scaled HappyRobot from zero to millions in revenue in under 2 years. A major lesson: Copying Palantir's playbook is a death sentence. You need your own version that matches your economics. What Pablo figured out after embedding himself in truck stops and Discord servers: 1. Split the impossible role - Nobody can code AND sell AND manage change; HappyRobot uses FDEs for building, and Deployment Strategists for commercial expansion. 2. Embed like an anthropologist - Sitting next to customers for weeks reveals problems they can't articulate on Zoom calls. 3. Speed-run enterprise deals - Build custom POCs before contracts exist; HappyRobot closes in weeks while competitors schedule meeting #3. 4. Walk away from bad revenue - If there's no path from $30K → $300K → $3M, the unit economics will kill you. 5. Verticalize once patterns emerge - Start generalist to see patterns, then create specialized pods that own entire industries. For the full playbook, listen to the episode and read the deep dives — LINK IN COMMENTS.

The whole HappyRobot team got together this month to break in a new office & spend some quality time out in nature. ⛰️ This is the first time we've had a team onsite / offsite in over 2 years of building & we're feeling more energized than ever! We spent a few days onsite in the office collaborating, planning, and seeing a glimpse of what comes after AI workers - the future of work that we're all building towards. 🌟 & Then we spent some time out in nature doing sports, eating good food, and getting a little too competitive in a boat building competition. 🚣 We're always grateful to be working with such an amazing team, but feeling a little extra gratitude after this amazing experience with almost 70 HappyRobots. 🤍
