As part of HCA Healthcare, HCA HealthONE is committed to championing mental wellness for our patients, colleagues and communities. Through HCA Healthcare’s collaboration with Everfi, we sponsor the “Understanding Mental Wellness” course to middle and high school students in communities HCA Healthcare serves nationwide. Everfi also helps educators foster mental well-being in their classrooms and equips students with lifelong skills to support their #MentalHealth. Recently, HCA Healthcare and Everfi brought this mission to life at Aurora Science and Technology High School, where the senior class participated in a hands-on session focused on expressive therapy strategies. Thanks to the heart and expertise of our HCA HealthONE behavioral and mental wellness specialists, along with an incredible crew of colleague volunteers, six practical (and surprisingly fun) coping strategies were introduced: 🔸Art – creative expression as a release 🔸Movement – using your body to shift your mind 🔸Pet Therapy – creates comfort and connection that support emotional well-being 🔸Journaling – putting feelings into written words 🔸Meditation – building calm in a chaotic world 🔸Career Exploration – envisioning meaningful work opportunities What happened next was powerful: Students opened up, shared their own stories and reflected on how they care for themselves and each other. That’s the kind of impact we’re committed to – meeting young people where they are and giving them tools that last far beyond graduation. This is how we show up. This is how we build healthier communities together – because mental health matters. #ImproveMoreLives

Each year, more than 200,000 babies are born in hospitals across our larger HCA Healthcare network – and some arrive earlier than expected. According to March of Dimes, about 1 in 10 babies in the U.S. are born prematurely. This means they enter the world before 37 weeks of pregnancy.

How a "Field of Dreams" helped a cancer survivor heal after the fight was over. ⚾ Patrick Murphy survived prostate cancer, but the powerful radiation treatments left him with severe, chronic bladder damage that landed him in the hospital five more times. His urologist suggested an unexpected therapy: hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT). Patrick went into the chamber skeptical, but came out healed. He now wants to demystify the process for others. Click to read Patrick's inspiring story and learn how pure oxygen helped him finally finish the healing process: https://bit.ly/49JURqj

Kesha Klaw's hot flashes and body changes were initially dismissed as work stress, highlighting a major issue: Women are waiting years for correct diagnoses because many doctors lack menopause training. It took seeing a specialist for Kesha to get the expert, validating care she needed. Providers must be "good listeners," says Dr. Abby Barnes, an OB-GYN at HCA HealthONE, who is advocating for more uniformity in how doctors discuss menopause and perimenopause in Colorado. Kesha recommends that if you're experiencing symptoms, demand a doctor who is informed and ready to help. At HCA HealthONE our doctors are ready to listen and provide the right support. ➡️ Find a doctor: https://lnkd.in/ggXiUeHK
Menopause will happen to every woman, so why do some Colorado doctors dismiss so many symptoms?
