Integrated Services for Behavioral Health
Hospitals and Health Care
Healthy People. Strong Communities.
About us
Times are changing for all health care providers and especially for behavioral health. The people we serve are increasingly expecting better and more accountable services. Challenges to good health and well-being now require help with a broad range of issues like education, employment, safe and affordable housing and easy access to primary care. We serve southeastern and central Ohio with a comprehensive array of behavioral health and other services, working with local partners to promote healthy people and strong communities.

ISBH’s own Sam Shafer, CEO; Becky Neubauer Eddy, Chief Real Estate Officer; and Rose Frech, Director of External Affairs, attended the Advocates for Ohio’s Future 15-Year Celebration at the Statehouse. As proud AOF members, we were thrilled to stand alongside so many dedicated advocates, celebrate the coalition’s accomplishments, and reflect on the meaningful impact AOF continues to make for Ohio’s children, families, and communities.

On November 14th, we celebrated the graduation of our third cohort of Community Health Workers! This is made possible through the support of our partners at CareSource and Ohio University, along with the hard work and dedication of our staff trainers and the employees who completed the course. These graduates are now on the path to becoming certified Community Health Workers through the Ohio Board of Nursing, and we couldn’t be more proud of their commitment to serving our communities. Congrats!!

Our team spent time reviewing statewide START updates, exploring current trends and challenges, and reinforcing the trauma-informed practices that guide our work with families. Ohio START brings child welfare and behavioral health together to support parents navigating substance use, strengthen family stability, and help keep children safely with their caregivers whenever possible. The Learning Community Groups offered meaningful space to collaborate across counties, exchange strategies, and continue improving the services we provide to families in the program. Grateful for the teamwork, dedication, and shared commitment to helping families heal and thrive.
