This Thanksgiving, we’re thankful for the people who make what we do possible — our teams, partners and clients across North America. Together, we’ve built projects that strengthen communities, drive progress and make a lasting impact. We’re proud of all we’ve accomplished this year and grateful for everyone who helped make it happen. From all of us across Kiewit and our subsidiaries, happy Thanksgiving! 🦃

Our team on the Southeast Connector project is keeping progress moving day and night — safely and efficiently. Night operations like this take careful coordination and commitment from every craft and staff professional on site. Thank you to the crews who make it happen and keep our projects moving forward after dark. The North Runway Modernization Program at Vancouver International Airport is a full-circle moment for our team. Kiewit first built the original North Runway in 1996 — and nearly three decades later, some of those same employees returned to help modernize it once again. Working through challenging conditions, tight timelines and overnight shifts, the team successfully delivered a new 10,000-foot runway surface and lighting system, all within eight-hour operational windows while the airport remained fully active. Congratulations to our client, our Vancouver project team and all partners involved. Your coordination, collaboration and commitment made this milestone possible while honoring the historical land we worked on. 📸 YVR

With Thanksgiving around the corner, we’re grateful to be surrounded by so many people who share our commitment to building what matters.   This month’s newsletter celebrates the stories that define Kiewit — preserving history at Pearl Harbor, advancing innovation in nuclear energy, inspiring future engineers and strengthening partnerships across North America.   These moments are more than milestones. They’re proof that when we work together with purpose, we help build stronger communities and a brighter future for our industry.

Removing 10,000 tons of bridge deck is no small milestone. Crews at the Francis Scott Key Bridge Rebuild project recently completed the removal of the existing bridge deck — nearly 10,000 tons of concrete now stockpiled on site for recycling and reuse. Next up: steel girder removal on the south side. Each girder weighs about 50,000 pounds and is safely lowered using precision torch cutting and crane operations. This achievement marks another important step in preparing for new bridge construction to begin. 📸 Photos taken by Maryland Transportation Authority
