✨ Board Member Spotlight: Meet Lorin Pargoud, dedicated LEAF Board Member and proud advocate for public education! ✨ As the son of two educators and a professional who helps design schools with PBK, Lorin is passionate about ensuring teachers and students have the tools they need to succeed. His favorite LEAF moment? The excitement of the New Teacher Stampede — welcoming new educators to the LCISD family each year! Fun fact: Lorin once marched in the world-famous Southern University Marching Band – The Human Jukebox! 💙💛 We’re grateful for Lorin’s leadership and dedication to advancing LEAF’s mission to support students and educators across Lamar CISD. ✨Meet LEAF Board President – Beverly Richard ✨ A retired educator with 45 years in public education—40 of them in Lamar CISD—Beverly has served on the LEAF Board since 2018. Her “why” is inspired by Muhammad Ali’s words: “Service to others is the rent you pay for your room here on earth.” Beverly is a true “worker bee,” lending her time, creativity, and organizational skills to support teachers, students, and the LCISD community. Her favorite LEAF program? The New Teacher/Staff initiative—giving $100 to brand-new teachers to help prepare their classrooms before their first paycheck. Thank you, Beverly, for your passion, leadership, and dedication to keeping the spirit of education alive! Learn more about Beverly and the LEAF Board: Board Member Spotlight: http://bit.ly/3J5sUOM

The why behind our mission.
I had the privilege of showcasing my grant at the Lamar Educational Awards Foundation’s 25th Anniversary Celebration. My project, featuring LEGO® Education SPIKE™ Essential, is giving students opportunities to collaborate, problem-solve, and think like innovators. A huge thank you to @LEAF for investing in innovative learning experiences that spark curiosity and creativity in our future leaders, and to @LEGOEducation for providing the tools that make this work possible.
