We're proud to join Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM) and McKinney York Architects in shaping this exciting new chapter for AUS and the city of Austin.
The new Arrivals and Departures Hall at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) will be the centerpiece of the airport’s multi-billion dollar Journey With AUS expansion—reshaping how travelers experience Austin, Texas, and redefining one of the city’s most important public gateways. Designed by SOM in collaboration with Michael Hsu Office of Architecture and McKinney York Architects, the multistory hall will serve as a new front door to the city. It will unify and expand ticketing, security, baggage claim, and concessions—streamlining operations and creating a more welcoming, intuitive journey for millions of annual passengers. “As the first and final touchpoint for millions visiting Austin each year, this hall carries immense potential to shape perceptions of the city,” said Design Partner Scott Duncan. “Together with our local partners, we’re designing a space that captures the energy and soul of Austin while delivering the functionality of a next-generation airport.” Set to open in the early 2030s, the hall is a generational investment in Austin’s future—designed to meet long-term growth, elevate the travel experience, and embody the creativity, inclusivity, and civic spirit that define the city.
