Alcohol misuse screening in trauma patients is more than a checklist. It’s a proactive, preventative measure that helps identify those at risk and connect them with resources for recovery. By integrating this approach, we support comprehensive care and improve patient outcomes. Last week, the Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center Trauma Team had the honor of presenting their Performance Improvement project on alcohol misuse screening and intervention at the American College of Surgeons Trauma Quality Improvement Program (TQIP) Conference in Chicago. Being selected for a poster presentation at this national event is a proud moment for our program and a testament to the team’s commitment to advancing quality care for patients.
