This Thanksgiving, moms at Saint John’s are grateful for something many of us may take for granted; a safe place to bring their families. 🧡 Because of your support, women and children have shelter, stability, and the chance to start again together.

Giving Tuesday is just around the corner and Felicia’s story is a powerful reminder of what your generosity makes possible. After a surgery in 2006, Felicia became addicted to pain medication. When the prescriptions ran out, she turned to meth. She lost her job as a medical assistant, her home, and her sense of self. For a year, she lived on the streets in a cycle of addiction and abuse. “I lost everything, my job, my home, my dignity, myself,” Felicia remembers. “Even my family had lost all hope.” At Saint John’s, Felicia found a safe place to heal and rebuild. Through therapy, 12-step support, and job training, she got her driver’s license back after eight years, returned to work full time as a medical assistant, and moved into a “warm and cozy” duplex with her daughter, Athena, now a full academic scholarship student at St. Mary’s College. “Keep your eye on the prize,” Felicia says. “Your life can be beyond your wildest dreams.” This Giving Tuesday, you can help more moms like Felicia move from surviving to truly living, creating stability, safety, and opportunity for their children too. 📅 Mark your calendar for Giving Tuesday 💻 Learn more and make an early gift: https://lnkd.in/gSSjJntA Every gift helps rewrite a family’s story.
