Selecting an Enterprise Architecture Methodology; A Ratings and Evaluation Handbook. This handbook is designed to help you evaluate an Enterprise Architecture methodology on a quantitative basis. Twenty-six distinct criteria are divided into five categories: objectives, properties, components, functions, and services. Each criterion is presented in the form of a question, followed by a discussion to guide you in evaluating the methodology under review. This is only a summary. Download the Full handbook using this link: https://lnkd.in/gXXbs4bK The handbook begins with a perspective-setting discussion on methodologies. It then introduces five categories you should consider when selecting a methodology. Each category contains specific criteria stated in question form. Each question is followed by a brief discussion that helps you rate the methodology. The handbook concludes with charts you can use for making quantitative evaluations and for comparing methodologies. #EACOE #EnterpriseArchitect #EnterpriseArchitecture

Enterprise Architects: Be Careful – Do not develop new “silos.” In this video, we discuss what Enterprise Architectures Mistakes to avoid, and how to start developing a Holistic Enterprise Architecture. If Enterprise Architects do not have a seat at the Decision-Making Table – ask the CEO/President/CXO what is required to make this happen. Perhaps it is because Enterprise Architects “inadvertently” created new Silos that were as much of a concern as the previous Silos. The Enterprise Architecture Objective: Business Impact. Let us make sure that Enterprise Architects, and their resulting architectures, are not producing a “new” version of Silos. EA thought of the day... Clean sheet design is the easiest kind of Enterprise Architecture. Efficient redesign of an existing, well optimised enterprise is the hardest. Most architecture work is redesign of an existing, poorly optimised enterprise. #EnterpriseArchitecture

Every thing starts with a planning decision. Enterprise Architecture is used for discussing and balancing the interests of all relevant stakeholders to help organizations implement well-coordinated changes and make optimal planning decisions. Optimal planning decision as Svyatolav Kotusev is: "Decision that achieve both short-term and long-term goals with minimal costs in a technically optimal and risk-free manner without introducing excessive complexity or undermining overall consistency." #EnterpriseArchitecture

Enterprise Architecture is often overlooked — until things start to break. Our latest blog explores why EA is essential for public sector and regulated organisations, how it supports transformation, and why fractional EA can be the smarter way to build structure without adding cost. Enterprise Architecture doesn’t get the credit it deserves. When it’s missing, organisations make reactive decisions, duplicate investment, and lose control of direction. In my latest blog for dstilld technologies, I talk about what EA really is, why it matters for public and regulated sectors, and how fractional EA can help build structure and reduce risk. #EnterpriseArchitecture #PublicSector #Transformation #Strategy #dstilldtechnologies #RegulatedPrivateSector

EA thought of the day... There are two main legal definitions of the word “Enterprise” — a large organisation (usually for profit) or a business endeavour. So which one does Enterprise Architecture cover? It was developed to allow the design of large organisations. But that means it’s also suitable for the design of the second because that usually involves a subset or smaller but similar design to an organisation. #EnterpriseArchitecture

Behind the Scenes: Architecture Design in Action This is where the magic happens—whiteboard sessions, architecture diagrams, and the moment a complex problem becomes a clear solution. Enterprise and solution architecture isn't about fancy frameworks or jargon. It's about sitting down with teams, understanding their pain points, and designing a path forward that actually works. Every line on that whiteboard represents a decision. Every box is a system. Every connection is a dependency that needs to be managed. This is why I love what I do. Taking a tangled mess of legacy systems, business requirements, and technical constraints, and turning it into a coherent, implementable architecture. The best part? Watching teams go from "this is impossible" to "now I see how we get there." That's architecture at work. #EnterpriseArchitecture #SolutionArchitect #ArchitectureDesign #DigitalTransformation #ITConsulting #BehindTheScenes
