Every thing starts with a planning decision. Enterprise Architecture is used for discussing and balancing the interests of all relevant stakeholders to help organizations implement well-coordinated changes and make optimal planning decisions. Optimal planning decision as Svyatolav Kotusev is: "Decision that achieve both short-term and long-term goals with minimal costs in a technically optimal and risk-free manner without introducing excessive complexity or undermining overall consistency." #EnterpriseArchitecture

Selecting an Enterprise Architecture Methodology; A Ratings and Evaluation Handbook. This handbook is designed to help you evaluate an Enterprise Architecture methodology on a quantitative basis. Twenty-six distinct criteria are divided into five categories: objectives, properties, components, functions, and services. Each criterion is presented in the form of a question, followed by a discussion to guide you in evaluating the methodology under review. This is only a summary. Download the Full handbook using this link: https://lnkd.in/gXXbs4bK The handbook begins with a perspective-setting discussion on methodologies. It then introduces five categories you should consider when selecting a methodology. Each category contains specific criteria stated in question form. Each question is followed by a brief discussion that helps you rate the methodology. The handbook concludes with charts you can use for making quantitative evaluations and for comparing methodologies. #EACOE #EnterpriseArchitect #EnterpriseArchitecture

Enterprise Architecture doesn’t get the credit it deserves. When it’s missing, organisations make reactive decisions, duplicate investment, and lose control of direction. In my latest blog for dstilld technologies, I talk about what EA really is, why it matters for public and regulated sectors, and how fractional EA can help build structure and reduce risk. #EnterpriseArchitecture #PublicSector #Transformation #Strategy #dstilldtechnologies #RegulatedPrivateSector

𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐃𝐨 𝐌𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐄𝐀 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐬 𝐅𝐚𝐢𝐥 𝐁𝐞𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐄𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭? Traditional Enterprise Architecture (EA) initiatives often collapse under the weight of their own complexity, demanding significant upfront investment in time, resources, and expensive tooling. They face several common hurdles, including the high cost of entry and a steep learning curve. The solution isn't immediate, exhaustive documentation or a massive EAMS investment. The fix is finding a low-cost, guided way to start simple by quickly building a minimal, pragmatic, and value-driven EA baseline. Focus on creating that clear foundation. Establish a simple, structured snapshot of what you have—this small effort unlocks clarity, agility, and efficiency, creating the crucial bridge to a mature architecture. #EnterpriseArchitecture #DigitalTransformation #ITStrategy #EAMS #CIO #VistaLyn

Enterprise Architects: Be Careful – Do not develop new “silos.” In this video, we discuss what Enterprise Architectures Mistakes to avoid, and how to start developing a Holistic Enterprise Architecture. If Enterprise Architects do not have a seat at the Decision-Making Table – ask the CEO/President/CXO what is required to make this happen. Perhaps it is because Enterprise Architects “inadvertently” created new Silos that were as much of a concern as the previous Silos. The Enterprise Architecture Objective: Business Impact. Let us make sure that Enterprise Architects, and their resulting architectures, are not producing a “new” version of Silos.
