ANZCA is one of the largest specialist medical colleges in Australia and New Zealand.
About us
We are the region's foremost authority on anaesthesia, pain medicine and perioperative medicine. We're responsible for training, assessing, and setting standards for all specialist anaesthetists and specialist pain medicine physicians wishing to practice in Australia and New Zealand. As a proudly bi-national college, we offer our training, research, and lifelong learning programs on both sides of the Tasman, and work closely with the governments, healthcare services, and communities in each country on a wide range of issues. We also play a significant role in advancing global health. Take a look at who we are, how we work, where we've come from, and where we're going on our website.

Here are some of the top things we think you need to know about MyPortfolio. After extensive consultation with trainees, supervisors, directors of professional affairs, and other stakeholders, we’ll be transitioning all current trainees and their data to MyPortfolio at the same time. This approach ensures consistency and avoids the need to work across two systems (TPS and MyPortfolio). We're incredibly grateful to our volunteer testers for their commitment and collaboration. From their feedback we understand the need to provide a familiar like for like system with enhanced features. Our dedicated MyPortfolio webpage includes demonstration videos, information about upcoming drop-in sessions and answers to frequently asked questions. Head here: https://lnkd.in/g3rV5VJf

The program for the 2026 ANZCA ASM is here! We’re excited to share an incredible line-up of keynote speakers, scientific sessions, workshops, social functions and optional activities. This will all be taking place in Auckland/Tāmaki Makaurau, where you will find views of pristine oceans and sprawling mountains – just a glimpse of New Zealand’s many natural wonders and sites to visit. The meeting's theme is “Herenga waka herenga tāngata: From home to home”, representing the journey of anaesthesia – from the decision to undergo surgery through to recovery and the patient returning home. Through this theme we will also reflect on the anaesthetist’s journey and professional wellbeing. Explore the program before registration opens on Monday 1 December here: https://bit.ly/4rl1Dcx

Great to see the attention to detail and user input that the new MyPortfolio build has incorporated coming through in this candid UAT feedback. Only two weeks until the switchover now!
The countdown is on for the launch of MyPortfolio, ANZCA’s new training portfolio which will launch later this month. Early feedback from supervisors and trainees who’ve tested the new platform has been overwhelmingly positive – highlighting its intuitive design, streamlined navigation, and close alignment with existing TPS processes. We spoke to the ANZCA Trainee Committee about their thoughts on the new platform! To ensure a smooth migration, we strongly recommend that you: - Review and update your training activities including training time. - Follow up approval of training activities as much as possible. - Download a copy of your TPS training summary and the cases and procedure report for your records. Please complete these actions by Monday 17 November 2025. During the week of 24 November, the TPS will be retired, and trainees will begin recording their training in MyPortfolio.
