5,300km. 8–9 months. A 200kg cart of supplies. One extraordinary mission: supporting youth mental health across Australia. As Mark continues his Trek for Youth Mental Health, he’s now over 1,300km into his 5,300km walk - making his way across WA’s eastern corridor toward the NT and Uluru. This Christmas, Mark is aiming to raise $53,000 to help batyr deliver preventative mental health education to young people who need it most. Every $30 donated allows us to reach another young person with practical tools to look after their mental wellbeing. He’s already raised nearly $18,000 - an incredible effort - but there’s still a long way to go. If your organisation or team is looking for a meaningful cause to support this festive season, we’d love for you to join Mark’s journey. 🙌 Show your support by making a donation here: https://lnkd.in/gVeBmcyq

We’ve just wrapped up our grant project in North Queensland, delivering much-needed mental health education at Mackay Northern Beaches State High School - made possible through the generous support of the Bupa Foundation. With Bupa’s partnership, we were able to increase access to preventative mental health education and share powerful lived experience stories with young people who may not otherwise have access to this kind of support. We’re incredibly grateful for Bupa’s commitment to improving youth mental health and excited to continue this important work together in 2025. Thank you to the Bupa Foundation and everyone involved in making this impact possible. 💙

This International Men’s Day, we’re highlighting an issue that continues to affect the wellbeing of young men: feeling like speaking openly about their mental health is “weird”. According to new data from The Men's Project at Jesuit Social Services, more than one-third of teenage boys in Australia feel uncomfortable talking about their feelings with other boys. This discomfort can fuel silence - but there is genuine momentum toward change. Through our programs and workshops, we meet young men who are reshaping the narrative. Christian and Mac, two of our lived experience storytellers, show that strength can include vulnerability, emotional honesty and connection. 💙 Creating supportive environments where men and boys feel comfortable speaking up is essential to improving mental health outcomes, and to build a culture where seeking help is recognised as a sign of strength, not weakness. To close out #MentalHealthMonth last week, we were thrilled to partner with 1 Elizabeth to bring a mental health activities hub to the heart of Sydney CBD. ✍️🎲🧩 It was so great to see both building staff and people passing through taking a moment out of their busy day to connect through puzzles, brainteasers, and mindfulness activities – sparking meaningful conversations and creating a space for real connection. This activation demonstrates exactly why creating safe, inclusive spaces for mental health conversations matters – giving people the opportunity to pause, check in and engage with each other in a supportive environment. A big thank you to 1 Elizabeth for making this possible, and to everyone who joined us. 💙 #teambuilding #wellbeing #youthmentalhealth #connection #sydney

📢 Preparing for the under-16 social media ban in Australia From December 10, 2025, new legislation will make it unlawful for Australians under age 16 to have accounts on most social media platforms, including TikTok, Instagram, Snapchat, YouTube, Facebook and X. This change is aimed at protecting young people’s mental health and wellbeing, giving them extra time to build skills such as digital literacy, critical thinking, impulse control, and resilience - all essential tools for navigating the online world safely. For parents, educators, and youth professionals, this is a significant shift. Young people may experience a range of emotions as they adjust. Supporting them by acknowledging their feelings, helping them preserve important content, and guiding them towards safe online alternatives will be key. Key points to share with young people: 🔹Accounts will be deactivated, and creating new ones won’t be possible until they turn 16. 🔹Public content will still be accessible, but interaction will be limited. 🔹Platforms will implement age verification measures, but there will be processes to recover accounts if mistakes happen. To help young people, families, and educators navigate these changes, we’ve shared a detailed breakdown in our blog: https://lnkd.in/gdZ_MQAB #YouthMentalHealth #DigitalWellbeing #SocialMediaSafety #Parents #Educators
