About us
Better Health Network (or BHN) is a not-for-profit community healthcare organisation providing a wide range of integrated health, wellbeing and support services to communities across the inner-south and south-eastern suburbs of Melbourne. Experience and compassion are at the core of our holistic approach through our vision “your health, your choice, your way.” We celebrate our history, community and diversity, while working to be at the forefront of best-practice support delivery. We exist to deliver accessible health and wellbeing services that meet the needs of our diverse communities and use our influence to create positive change. With a workforce of more than 1,000 employees and volunteers, we provide a wide range of services to support healthy living, general wellbeing and social connection to more than 600,000 people through 20+ sites. These include specialist medical services, dental and allied health, nursing, gamblers’ help and counselling services, as well as aged care social supports and NDIS disability services. We are proud to offer an inclusive service and work environment where individuals feel safe, accepted, affirmed, and celebrated. We acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land on which we work and are committed to working in partnership with local indigenous communities and addressing health inequity for First Nations people. Better Health Network (BHN) was formed by the voluntary amalgamation of Central Bayside Community Health Services (CBCHS), Connect Health & Community and Star Health in 2022. Today marks the beginning of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence. BHN acknowledges the role we play in preventing and responding to family and gender-based violence. 🤝 Our Family Violence services provide support to those who experience, witness or have been exposed to family violence, as well as our Men’s Behaviour Change Program for men using violence. 🌍Our Health Promotion team works in community to promote equity and respect, to help disrupt the gendered drivers of violence and stop it before it starts. 🧡 #RespectVIC #16Days #16DaysOfActivism

🌈✨ Yesterday, Better Health Network (BHN) proudly hosted our first public LGBTIQA+ Seniors event at the stunning Victorian Pride Centre — and what a celebration it was! The fabulous Dean Arcuri (Frock Hudson) lit up the room with sparkle and song, leading a joyful singalong of beloved classics that had everyone smiling. Guests enjoyed a delicious morning tea, explored the award-winning VPC building, and learned more about BHN’s inclusive health services during a presentation by our team leaders. The energy was warm, welcoming, and full of connection. As one participant shared, “It was good to get to know about BHN services.” Another added, “More Frock Hudson!” - and we couldn’t agree more! A huge thank you to City of Port Phillip for making this special event possible. Your support helped us bring community, colour, and care together in a truly meaningful way. Thank you to everyone who joined us in celebrating pride, community, and the vibrant contributions of our LGBTIQA+ Seniors. 💜 #BHNCommunity #LGBTIQASeniors #VictorianPrideCentre #StrongerTogether #FrockHudson #InclusiveHealth #BetterHealthNetwork
