One year ago the Australian Human Rights Commission released the National Anti-Racism Framework - Australia’s first national roadmap to end racism. Commissioned by the Australian Government and developed through consultation with communities nationwide, the Framework outlines a whole-of-society approach to recognising and addressing the systemic racism that persists in Australia. Since its release, there has been no meaningful progress towards resourcing or implementing this crucial work. On the first anniversary of the Framework, FECCA is joining more than 50 civil society organisations in urging the government to fund and deliver all 63 of its recommendations. 📱 The my health app was successfully updated on 24 November 2025. Consumers will now have the ability to view and manage some privacy settings in the same way they can within My Health Record. Consumers can now: • Set up access controls for particular documents or their whole record, enabling choice over which healthcare providers or organisations can see the record or specific document. • Invite and manage nominated representatives to assist with managing a record. This change puts consumers in even more control over their health information from the palm of their hand. More information about my health app can be found on the Agency webpage. Click the post below for more info 👇
The latest updates to the my health app now let you manage privacy and access settings directly within the app, with any changes also reflected in My Health Record. Convenient. Secure and from the palm of your hand. For more information about my health app visit https://lnkd.in/gM_Tzc5k or download my health app for iOS or Android from the App Store or Google Play.

Following the launch of 'Vision 2030: A Roadmap for Healthy Ageing in Multicultural Australia' last week... FECCA CEO Mary Ann Baquero Geronimo joined key stakeholders to celebrate the Maggie Beer Foundation’s outstanding work in transforming food and dining experiences in aged care. Hosted by the Foundation’s new Patron, Her Excellency Sam Mostyn AC, Governor-General of Australia, the event showcased delicious afternoon tea creations prepared by aged care chefs - each dish inspired by real aged care menus. “FECCA is a proud supporter of Maggie Beer’s advocacy for bringing the joy of good food to aged care homes every day. The Foundation has made a meaningful difference to the health and wellbeing of many older Australians, and we look forward to seeing even more global flavours enjoyed across the country.” - Mary Ann said. 👉 Download FECCA's Vision 2030: https://lnkd.in/guFzUvPy #agedcare #multiculturalaustralia

🤩 A big thank you again to Victorian Health Promotion Foundation (VicHealth) for being such a wonderful partner for this year's National Multicultural Health and Wellbeing Conference. It took many months of planning and team work to bring this important event together, and we could not have done it without your support!
We know that things like where you live, your income, your culture, and your access to safe spaces all affect health outcomes. That’s why we’re working to remove the barriers that drive inequity and limit participation – especially those who face the most disadvantage. Last week, we proudly supported the The Australian Multicultural Health Collaborative and FECCA (Federation of Ethnic Communities' Councils of Australia), as they hosted the National Multicultural Health and Wellbeing Conference 2025. Over two days, the conference brought together public health leaders, multicultural communities, and experts from across systems come together to share knowledge elevate community insights and consider real solutions to reduce barriers to good health for everyone. This is big, important work – and we’re proud to have played a role in making it happen. We’re big believers in bringing people with shared values together.

This week, the Australian Multicultural Women's Alliance (AMWA) was officially launched at the 2025 National Multicultural Health and Wellbeing Conference. As an integral part of the National Women’s Alliances, AMWA acts to connect government and community — ensuring that the diverse experiences and perspectives of multicultural women are central to how we address gender equality, health and wellbeing policy in Australia. Executive Director of the Office for Women, Padma Raman PSM, was joined by a panel of experts to discuss the lived realities of multicultural women’s health and how it intersects with gender-based violence, care, leadership and economic security.
