  • Today marks the first day of the annual 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence campaign, which Council is proud to support. It runs from 25 November (International Day for Elimination of Violence against Women) to 10 December (Human Rights Day) and aims to raise awareness and take action to end gender-based and family violence. In Loddon Shire both Boort District Health and Inglewood and Districts Health Service have organised community events as well. Two of our staff members, Jordan and Louise, share some reasons in this video why the campaign matters. The weekly event is held on Pyramid Hill, starting at the golf course. ✨ Light Up the Night project – turned on the lights at recreation reserves in Wedderburn and Inglewood, making the spaces feel safer and more inviting during the darker winter evenings. 🏊 Aqua Aerobics – over 100 attendances were seen for this pilot project at Pyramid Hill and Mitiamo pools where structured, low-cost fitness sessions were held. ⚽ Sports Equipment Libraries – provided free access to sports gear in Tarnagulla and Pyramid Hill, supporting spontaneous and informal activity for all ages. 🌱 HLC Healthy Schools Project – delivered at East Loddon College, Pyramid Hill College, and St Mary’s Primary School Inglewood, aiming to improve healthy eating and physical activity.
