  • Yesterday we joined the 35th Annual March Against Family & Domestic Violence (FDV). 🧡 Held by Centre for Women's Safety and Wellbeing, the event serves as an opportunity to reflect on the profound impact of FDV & our shared responsibility to drive change. An estimated 305,400 women in WA (30%) have experienced physical, emotional or economic abuse by a partner they live with, showing how critical this issue remains in our community. We walked in silence through Perth’s CBD streets, uniting against FDV together.🚶♀️➡️ As an organisation, we feel privileged to be part of this event, having the opportunity to support, listen, and share our FDV Services. Yesterday reminded us: we all play a part. 👨👩👧👦 🔗 Learn how you can #PlayYourParthttps://lnkd.in/gpT2GTNS 🔗 Our Services: https://lnkd.in/g_DV9rtP 🔗 Safe From Violence Resource:  https://lnkd.in/duaChJWN #35thMarch #16DaysInWA

  • ✨ 16 Days in WA begins today – let’s play our part. From 25 November to 10 December, we unite for 16 Days in WA, standing together against family and domestic violence (FDV). 🧡 This year’s theme, “Stopping FDV: Play Your Part,” encourages every one of us to challenge the attitudes and behaviours that enable violence. 🤝 📊 FDV remains a critical issue in Western Australia, with 65% of all reported assaults being FDV-related. Meaningful change begins with everyday actions – modelling respect towards women and girls, supporting young people to learn healthy relationships, and promoting consent, equality and safety. 👨👩👧 As an FDV-informed organisation, Relationships Australia WA integrates safety, accountability and trauma-informed practice across all services. We aim to support victim-survivors, create safe environments and promote actions that prevent and reduce violence. ➡️ Our FDV Services • FAIR – Family Abuse Integrated Response: bit.ly/RAWA-FAIR • Djinda – Specialised Service for Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander women and children: bit.ly/RAWA-Djinda • Counselling for Individuals – bit.ly/RAWA-Counselling • Safe From Violence Resource – https://lnkd.in/duaChJWN Whether you attend a march, start a conversation, or support a loved one – every action matters. 🙌 Together, we can help build safer futures for women, children and families across WA. 🔗 Learn more about 16 Days in WA: bit.ly/16-Days-In-WA 🔗 Find information on the 35th March Against FDV happening in Perth today: bit.ly/484KDyc Images provided by Centre for Women's Safety and Wellbeing #16DaysInWA #PlayYourPart

  • We were proud to be part of this vital conversation highlighting the pressures facing Australians in their middle years. The Bankwest Curtin Economics Centre (BCEC) research clearly shows the multiple pressures and conflicting demands many are experiencing. Helping people navigate life’s challenges is at the heart of what we do. If you or someone you know needs support, we’re here to help. 💙

What a day! We're taking a moment to reflect on the launch of our final report for the year, A Balancing Act: Life, work and connection in the middle years. Our new report finds Australians aged 35 to 55 are facing mounting pressures as they balance work, family and financial demands, with life satisfaction dipping to its lowest point in midlife. We had a meaningful panel conversation with Helena Jakupovic, General Manager of Financial Wellbeing Collective, Chris Kent, Founder of Talent Horizon Pty Ltd, Danielle Newport, CEO of Relationships Australia WA and report co-author Dr Daniel Kiely, in conversation with Nadia Mitsopoulos from ABC Radio Perth. We heard the brand-new research findings from BCEC's Dr Abebe Hailemariam and Dr Daniel Kiely and experienced a moving Welcome to Country from Robyn Whadjuk Ballardong Yorga Collard with her grandson Tryce Rioli on the didgeridoo. Bookending the event with their remarks were Taryn Hare, Executive Manager Brand and Marketing from Bankwest and Professor Alan Duncan, wrapping the proceedings, reflecting on both the report and year in research for BCEC. A special thanks to all our speakers and to everyone who took the time out of their busy schedules to attend our event. • Our 72nd Annual General Meeting was an opportunity to celebrate the impact Relationships Australia WA has made over the past year. In 2024/2025, we supported over 18,000 West Australians through life’s challenges while also delivering strategic projects, engaging with the community, and advocating for the important work we do. Some notable highlights included: ✅ Opening our new Bunbury premises, now home to headspace and 4families programs ✅ Expanding Men’s Behaviour Change programs, including reinstating the Midland Men’s group ✅ Transitioning KidCare to Aboriginal Controlled Organisation Gorenang Moortabiin We also officially welcomed new leaders Richard Haynes, Kerry Fryers, Elizabeth Thompson, Janalie Nelson and Board member Steve Allsop and farewelled long-serving Board member Tony Dobbs after nearly 20 years of dedicated service. Thank you to our incredible Board, team, partners, and supporters – your commitment makes this work possible.

  • Our Executive Manager Regions, Janalie Nelson, recently joined colleagues from the National Relationships Australia Federation and sector leaders in Canberra for the Family & Relationship Services Australia (FRSA) Strategic Leadership Forum. Over two days, delegates engaged in forward-thinking discussions and collaborative sessions focused on the key issues shaping the future of our sector. The forum also included a day at Parliament House, where participants met with Ministers and Senators to advocate for the essential role of child, family, and relationship services in supporting children and families affected by family and domestic violence (FDV). A huge thank you to FRSA for hosting such a meaningful event and for providing a platform to ensure families and children remain at the centre of funding and decision-making. • Walking together in truth and healing 🖤💛❤️ Last Thursday, members of Relationships Australia WA took part in the Reconciliation WA Walk for Reconciliation at Galup (formerly Lake Monger) in Perth and the walk from Koombana Bay to Graham Bricknell Shell in Bunbury. 👣  Both events provided opportunities for truth-telling, reflection, and solidarity at places of deep cultural and historical significance to the traditional custodians of the lands.  Together, these experiences reminded us that reconciliation is not a single moment but a shared journey – one that asks us to listen deeply, learn with humility, and walk forward together in truth and respect. 🌿 #NRW2025 #ReconciliationWA #WalkForReconciliation #Galup #TruthTelling #WhadjukNoongarCountry

  • Making space for connection, kindness and community. 💚 Throughout October, RAWA’s headspace team hosted Open Days across our Busselton, Margaret River and Bunbury locations.  It was fantastic to have community members, schools and local services come to meet the teams, explore the centres and celebrate headspace Day and Mental Health Month, focusing on activities that fill our cups and support our wellbeing. Thanks to everyone who came along and got involved! ✨ Find out more about our headspace locations here:  https://lnkd.in/gnkn5wvM #MentalHealthMatters #MakeSpaceFor #headspaceDay #mhw2025 #MentalHealthWeek #headspace

  • National Child Protection Week | 7–13 September 2025 This year’s theme, Every Conversation Matters: Shifting Conversation to Action, reminds us that protecting children requires more than words. It calls for listening, acting, and creating safer communities for every child. At Relationships Australia WA, we work every day to support families through counselling, mediation, education, and community programs. By strengthening relationships, we help create environments where children feel safe, valued, and heard. We’re proud to stand with NAPCAN and communities across Australia in recognising that keeping children safe is everyone’s responsibility. #NationalChildProtectionWeek #EveryConversationMatters #ChildSafeWA

  • We were delighted to welcome Jackie Brady, Executive Director of Family & Relationship Services Australia, to Relationships Australia WA during her visit to Perth last week. Our CEO and Executive team greatly appreciated the opportunity to connect and share insights into the services we provide to support families in times of need. Jackie generously shared sector knowledge that will help inform our service delivery, and her recognition of the dedication and impact of our teams was deeply appreciated. Thank you, Jackie, for taking the time to listen, engage, and energise. Your visit was both encouraging and inspiring, and we look forward to continuing our collaboration with FRSA and fellow members across the sector. #FamilyRelationshipService #Collaboration #Families
