Wardle is extremely pleased to welcome Thom Mckenzie as an Associate Principal. Thom’s already jumped into a few projects; his well-established leadership and broad skill set will be felt across the practice. Thom’s work is known to many through his previous practice, Winwood McKenzie Architecture, that he led for 15 years. His extensive experience spans notable international and Australian practices, including ACPV Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel in Milan, Studio\Woodroffe\Papa in Amsterdam, and Wood Marsh Architects in Melbourne. He has held roles advocating for emerging architects through various Australian Institute of Architects committees and councils, has taught at both Monash University and the University of Melbourne, and has been recognised for his creative vision and meticulous approach to architecture. We look forward to the impact Thom will bring to Wardle.

Wardle is pleased to have been appointed to design the Ashfield Mental Health Campus in New South Wales following a rigorous design competition. The campus aspires to be a world leading health care facility that challenges the stigmas around mental health and establishes a new model of care. The design proposes a new community-based setting for both day programs and overnight care. The project is being developed by TOGA Health. R U OK day challenges each of us to connect with people around us who may be struggling, on any day. By asking, listening, encouraging action and checking in, there’s potential to change a life.

Emma Adams writes eloquently about the vertical campus and our River’s Edge and Shed projects at the University of Tasmania Inveresk Campus. ‘Located within historic railway precincts, both are highly accessible and connected to civic and cultural networks and reflect the principles of the development as a shared precinct.’
