  • Accessibility is integral to inclusive design. In our latest case study with Association of Registered Graphic Designers (RGD), Entro shares how we partnered with the Metropolitan Airports Commission to design tactile maps for key amenity spaces including restrooms, nursing rooms, adult change rooms, sensory spaces, and pet relief rooms. As one of the busiest airports in the region, Minneapolis–St. Paul International Airport’s commitment to becoming the most accessible airport in the world guided this work from the outset. The project builds on a 2020 pilot and was developed through collaboration with Alliiance, the Travelers with Disabilities Advisory Committee (TDAC), State Services for the Blind, and a certified Braille proofreader involved in the Guidelines and Standards for Tactile Graphics. Their perspectives ensured the maps met the highest standards of clarity and usability. The result is a tactile mapping system that enhances wayfinding and reinforces MSP’s dedication to a welcoming, barrier-free travel experience. It’s a meaningful expression of Entro’s guiding principle of Designing for All. Want to learn from our designers? Municipal Green Standards promote environmentally, socially, and economically sustainable development.   Fifteen years ago, the Toronto Green Standard (TGS) was introduced as a guideline for new development. TGS promotes sustainable designs that respond to the city’s local climate challenges, including air and water quality, climate change, energy use, waste reduction, and nature protection.   To celebrate this anniversary, let's take a look at these standards in action at our projects: ▪️Seneca Polytechnic Health and Wellness Centre ▪️25 St. Clair East Avenue Rehabilitation ▪️Peel Regional Police Operational Support Facility #DIALOG #CelebratingGreenStandards #CommunityWellbeing #WellbeingByDesign #ONenvironment Two Row Architect RDH Building Science Entro

  • After more than 70 years, Ford Motor Company has introduced a new architectural centerpiece with the opening of its global headquarters in Dearborn, Michigan. Located just outside Detroit and within sight of the facilities that have shaped Ford’s legacy for over a century, the 2.1 million square foot building marks a significant transformation in how the company works and collaborates. The architectural vision by Snøhetta, in partnership with Arcadis, creates a workplace shaped by natural light, courtyards, and open circulation that supports connection  for Ford employees. Ford’s real estate arm, Ford Land, emphasized that the new campus was designed to enable greater collaboration, flexibility, and efficiency, reflecting modern workplace expectations. The scale of the building allows for proximity, shared resources, and seamless movement between teams, all of which help break down historic silos and support Ford’s long-term innovation goals. Entro shaped the campus experience through a comprehensive wayfinding and placebranding program. Our work includes the wayfinding strategy, color and zoning system, room numbering approach, and the full interior and exterior signage program. We introduced a placebrand that extends Ford’s identity beyond the traditional blue oval, grounded in movement, materiality, and the landscape of Dearborn. The design draws from the relationship between engineered precision and the natural world. Waterjet-cut steel, hydroformed sheet metal, and etched wood express both automotive craft and the surrounding environment, creating a cohesive and dynamic visual language for the campus. We are excited to see this milestone come to life and grateful for the collaboration with Ford, Snøhetta, and Arcadis on a workplace that reflects Ford’s leadership and brand. • We’re proud to share that Jessica Schrader has been recognized with the 2025 SEGD Distinguished Member Award for her leadership in advancing accessibility in the built environment. For Entro, accessibility is foundational to how people experience both physical and digital spaces. Jessica’s work embodies this belief. Over the past four years, Jessica, along with fellow industry leaders George Lim and Simon Majarian, has played a pivotal role on the SEGD Accessible Design Committee, collaborating with organizations including the International Sign Association (ISA), the American Council of the Blind, and the United Spinal Association. Their collective effort resolved a decades-long debate on how contrast should be measured and contributed to major updates in the 2025 ICC A117.1 Standards, including a landmark 65% minimum contrast requirement for high contrast signage, exceeding ADA guidelines and significantly elevating accessibility standards nationwide. This milestone ensures that accessibility is considered from the earliest stages of planning and design, not as an afterthought. Jessica’s leadership, shaped by lived experience and more than 15 years of practice, reflects a simple truth: accessibility is not just technical; it is human. Please join us in celebrating Jessica’s impact and her commitment to creating environments that are more intuitive, inclusive, and welcoming for all. Find out more: https://lnkd.in/ep_7HSCc

Hunter Tura joins Entro as Chief Creative Officer (CCO). This strategic hire reinforces our commitment to design excellence and its leadership position in shaping how people experience and interact with the built environment.   The newly-created position marks Entro’s first strategic hire under the leadership of CEO John Campanella, who was hired this summer following an investment led by Astria Elevate LP. Tura, a 25-year design veteran and former CEO of The Creative Organization and Bruce Mau Design, will play a critical role in driving Entro’s design excellence and technology to create more personalized, data-driven experiential solutions that enhance how people interact with spaces and each other. “I am honored to join Entro at a moment of tremendous opportunity,” said Tura. “The firm’s legacy of blending design intelligence with cultural impact aligns deeply with my own creative philosophy. I look forward to working alongside an exceptional team to shape the future of experiential branding and wayfinding.”   “Entro is hard at work redefining how people experience the world through design and technology, and Hunter’s arrival marks a massive step forward in how Entro will further its vision of becoming the authors of tomorrow’s world-class experiences,” said Campanella. “With Hunter and our stellar creative team, we are well on our way to achieving that vision. Where Black Art Lives: After years of transformation, the Studio Museum in Harlem is reopening its doors on November 15 2025, marking a moment that reflects what a cultural institution can mean to its community. Long regarded as a cornerstone of Black art and creativity, the Museum’s new home, designed by Adjaye Associates and Cooper Robertson, rises from Harlem’s historic 125th Street as both a work of architecture and a space for belonging. The design opens itself to the neighborhood, inviting people to gather, learn, and celebrate the power of art. Entro is proud to have contributed to this new chapter by developing the Museum’s digital signage strategy, a system that connects visitors to exhibitions, programs, and stories in real time. Inspired by the idea of connection, the design uses colorful, dynamic threads that weave across screens, linking digital content to the physical experience of moving through the galleries. This work reflects our belief that technology should enhance storytelling, not distract from it, helping visitors navigate the Museum while staying connected to its mission. As the Studio Museum reopens, it continues its vital role in shaping how art is seen, shared, and experienced in Harlem and far beyond. • The concept of placemaking has long inspired designers, planners, and communities, but measuring its true impact has remained elusive. Now, groundbreaking research by Toronto Metropolitan University, in collaboration with Entro, The Daniels Corporation, Lemay, and MASSIVart, provides compelling evidence that placemaking works. The Value & Impact of Placemaking study reveals that well-designed environments do more than just look beautiful. They shape how people feel, think, and behave within them. Across five virtual environments — retail, real estate, office, public, and transit — placemaking interventions produced measurable improvements:  50% increase in people’s intention to spend time in the built environment 53% stronger alignment between people’s self-identity and their surroundings 77% more likely to recommend such places to others 74% more likely to share information about them, online or by word of mouth “This research opens up new possibilities for evidence-based design of cities, buildings and spaces.” — Dr. Louis-Etienne Dubois, Toronto Metropolitan University As a proud collaborator, Entro helped shape both the conceptual and experiential design aspects of this study, demonstrating how visual communication, wayfinding, and environmental branding enhance clarity, safety, and belonging. This research reframes placemaking not as a “soft” design concept, but as a strategic, measurable driver of community well-being, civic identity, and economic performance. Placemaking isn’t just about place. It’s about people. Read more about the study and its findings: https://lnkd.in/ehF3XSHf

As the world’s first-ever vertical media production village, Wildflower Studios is a three-dimensional hub for collaboration, creativity, and innovation. 🎬 Led by Robert De Niro and located just two miles from Manhattan in Astoria, Queens, the 760,000-sq-ft facility stacks soundstages, production suites, and offices, forming a home for storytellers. Each of the 11 self-contained modules consists of a large-span stage, vertical transportation, and production support spaces such as scene shops and dressing rooms. The central 30-ft-wide, L-shaped "interior street" and "elephant elevators" allow trucks and people to move seamlessly up and down between the studios, while the exterior is clad with black precast concrete panels - angled to create an animated façade that appears to shift with the sun throughout the day. Two open-air terraces puncture the building envelope, providing a greater connection to the waterfront, access to fresh air, and views of the skyline. Above it all, a 150,000-sq-ft roof entirely covered with solar panels crowns the film studio, making it one of the largest rooftop solar installations in New York City. 📸 Laurian Ghinitoiu Wildflower LTD Thornton Tomasetti Sherwood Design Engineers Altieri Janson Tsai Design Associates Lerch Bates Inc. Last Thursday evening, I attended the ULI Toronto event moderated by Basima Roshan, CPA, MBA and it was one of those conversations that stays with you. She led such a thoughtful discussion about design, development, and policy in shaping inclusive communities. The panelists each brought something that resonated with me. Eman Sabour (BDP Quadrangle) talked about representation beyond just having people in the room. It’s about empowering newcomers and reframing how we see the value in what people bring. Adaptation and innovation start there. Heela Omarkhail (The Daniels Corporation) reminded us that real estate isn’t the goal, it’s a tool. One we can use to build environments where people actually feel connected and supported. Luke Anderson (StopGap Foundation) pushed us to think past compliance. Where do our building codes fall short? Accessibility isn’t about meeting minimums. It’s about how people feel when they walk into a space. The interactive dialogue sessions that followed opened up honest conversations about belonging, empowerment, and the role we each play in making access real. One quote that stuck with me, shared during the discussion, came from Mia Mingus: “Access is about belonging.” I left thinking about the spaces we create and what they say about who we think matters. Grateful to be part of a team and community asking these questions.

Originally designed by Wallace Harrison in 1962, Dartmouth College’s Hopkins Center for the Arts (The Hop) has long served as the creative heart of campus life — home to performances, rehearsals, and interdisciplinary collaboration. As the arts have continued to evolve, Dartmouth set out to reimagine The Hopkins Center for a new generation — expanding its capacity for performance, teaching, and innovation while preserving its architectural legacy. To revitalize The Hop’s spaces and enhance how students, faculty, and visitors experience the center, Entro collaborated with Snøhetta and the Dartmouth project team. We did this through an integrated signage, wayfinding, and donor recognition program that unifies the new and existing environments, helping visitors navigate the building with ease while reflecting the Hop’s renewed creative energy. Our design approach emphasizes clarity, accessibility, and craftsmanship — aligning new interventions with the Hop’s architectural language and the College’s enduring creative spirit.
