November 25 marked a key milestone for BASF Additives’, with the commissioning of a new production line for high-performance Controlled Free Radical Polymerization (CFRP) dispersants in Nanjing, China. This new location will not only increase overall production capacity, but will also improve supply reliability and flexibility, alongside production from our other CFRP production site in Heerenveen, the Netherlands. Dispersing agents produced using CFRP technology are essential in improving pigment dispersion, color performance and system stability in order to meet the ever-increasing demands of modern coatings, inks and composites. This commissioning of our latest plant underscores BASF's continuous commitment to support the sustainable growth of our customers and the coatings industry globally. More information on this latest development is available from the news release: https://lnkd.in/eY_DdyjP If you’d like to stay up-to-date on BASF Additives’, be sure to follow BASF Additives for Paints, Coatings and Inks today! #BASFAdditives #PowerUpyourFormulations #CFRP #DispersingAgents

Artificial intelligence is transforming research and development — including at BASF. How does it help us become more productive and find better solutions faster? How are we investing more than €2 billion in R&D to drive innovation for our customers? Find out at the Research Press Briefing on December 11, live on LinkedIn. Circularity you can wear: How innovative circular economy solutions are revolutionizing the fashion industry. We also explore how advanced recycling processes are making a genuine circular economy possible in the apparel sector, and how, thanks to loopamid®, high-quality new fibres with significantly lower CO₂ emissions can be produced from old textiles.   Competitive hydrogen for the future: Since 2021, BASF has operated a test facility for methane pyrolysis. The next step now follows: together with ExxonMobil, this is being further developed into an industrial solution, with the aim of creating a demonstration plant for industrial production. Find out more about the latest developments.   Rethinking catalysts: With the new X3D® catalyst shaping technology, BASF has achieved a technological breakthrough in additive catalyst manufacturing. The innovative technology is based on 3D printing and enables the production of catalysts with customised geometric shapes, delivering optimised performance and efficiency.   Seeds full of science: Herbicide-resistant weeds are threatening cotton yields for farmers worldwide. To address this, BASF researchers have developed two innovative herbicide-tolerant traits for cotton seed. The development process focused on specific enzymes, known as 4-hydroxyphenylpyruvate dioxygenases (HPPD).   Additional info at https://lnkd.in/ecS_Xhma #Research #BASF_pcon #ArtificialIntelligence #AI #ResearchPressBriefing #LinkedInLive

We value our partnership with Henkel and are pleased to share this video of our CEOs - Carsten Knobel and Markus Kamieth - discussing the industry's transformation during Markus Kamieth’s visit to Henkel.

CEO of Henkel / Driving Purposeful Growth for Henkel

“For the chemical industry, transformation isn’t optional. It’s key to staying relevant.”   This crystal-clear statement by Markus Kamieth, CEO of BASF, during his recent visit to Henkel in Düsseldorf really hits the point. And I couldn’t agree more.   Because this isn’t just about BASF or Henkel. It’s about every industry and company in Germany and Europe. Staying successful means constantly evolving in how we work, think, and lead.   We discussed what it takes to drive this transformation. Both our companies have a strong heritage, but we must continue to evolve, and do so with purpose. What we need is a shift in our corporate culture. And if we want that, we have to start at the individual level, with our mindset.   That‘s exactly what the “Carsten Meets…” format is about: bringing inspiring people from business, sports, and society to our campus to spark reflection.   Thank you, Markus, for the great exchange and inspiration! And thanks to all the colleagues from Henkel and BASF who joined on-site and online. The questions and insights shared once again proved that change starts with all of us.   #WeAreHenkel

BASF and ExxonMobil have formed a strategic collaboration to advance methane pyrolysis technology, a next step toward delivering efficient, cost-competitive low-emission hydrogen solutions for industrial use. The companies have signed a joint development agreement to co-develop methane pyrolysis technology, including plans to construct a demonstration plant aimed at commercial readiness. BASF has been developing methane pyrolysis technology over the past several years in a project funded by the German Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space (BMFTR) (Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung). We developed a superior reactor concept that we successfully validated at our test plant in Ludwigshafen. By combining BASF’s process innovation with ExxonMobil’s scale-up expertise we are bringing this cost-efficient low-emission hydrogen solution closer to economically viable industrial deployment. #MethanePyrolysis #hydrogen

Great news about #hydrogen: Together with ExxonMobil, we team up to accelerate methane pyrolysis technology. This is truly a milestone toward delivering efficient, cost-competitive low-emission hydrogen solutions and it has a high potential for further reduction of the carbon footprint of our product portfolio. In line with our Winning Ways Strategy, it will contribute to our ambition to be the preferred chemical company to enable our customers’ green transformation. I am very proud of the #BASF team, who has been working on this technology for more than a decade and developed a superior reactor concept that we successfully validated at our test plant in Ludwigshafen. Now we are combining our process innovation with ExxonMobil’s scale-up expertise and are bringing this hydrogen solution closer to economically viable industrial deployment with a demonstration plant in Baytown, Texas, to validate the technology at scale. I am convinced that we can achieve much on our journey towards the green #transformation by joining forces!

♾️ On #OurPlasticsJourney in Tangier, Morocco, we brought customer centricity to life. At our first event dedicated to Engineering Plastics and Polyurethanes, we were not just rethinking how we MAKE, USE, and RECYCLE plastics, we were showcasing what that future looks like, today. By bringing together key industrials and our partners AMICA - Association Marocaine pour l'Industrie et la Construction Automobile and the UM6P - University Mohammed VI Polytechnic, we explored advanced BASF Performance Materials solutions tailored for the moroccan market. The event featured deep-dive discussions on sustainable technologies, emerging application trends, and collaborative opportunities to shape the future of plastics in North Africa. 🎥 Watch the video to experience the energy and ideas in action! Let’s keep the momentum going. #OurPlasticsJourney
