About us
The German Centre for Research and Innovation (DWIH) New Delhi is a unit of German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). It is a platform for exchange and networking between the Indian and German scientific communities and other stakeholders in research and innovation. It creates thematic dialogues and programmes between international stakeholders in research, politics and industry. The DWIH provides information on the research systems of India and Germany and expertise in international cooperation for science administrators and policy makers. The activities of the DWIH focus on current topical issues in the science and humanities and cover fundamental as well as applied research. Another objective is strengthening academia-industry relationship and supporting researchers and start-ups in science-based entrepreneurship. In India, it is a network of 29 German research organisations, universities, funding bodies, and research-based companies. It is part of a global network of six centres which is overseen by the DAAD and funded by the Federal Foreign Office of Germany.

One Unmatched Experience! 🌟 After an intense fortnight of ideation, mentoring, and networking, our #InnovatorsConnectTandem 2025 teams wrapped up their journey in #Bengaluru. 🎤 In the final milestone, the 13 dynamic #IndoGerman teams pitched their innovative solutions for tackling global challenges in #healthcare and infrastructure to #energy and neurology. These research-based, soon-to-be start-up ideas captured the essence of the programme - drawing on diverse expertise, embracing cross-cultural teamwork, and demonstrating the power of interdisciplinary collaboration. 🤝 The pitch day may be the finale of the programme, but it’s not the end! The participants leave with a long-lasting experience of co-creation, exposure to the best of research and innovation ecosystems, a strong network and meaningful connections that go beyond borders. 🎬 Raise the Curtains! It’s time for #InnovatorsConnectTandem 2025. #DWIHNewDelhi together with its partners has brought together 13 dynamic #IndoGerman teams comprising of 27 researchers and early‑stage startups. Over 10 days in Hyderabad and Bengaluru they will get hands‑on experience and mentoring to collaborate and craft practical, innovative solutions to pressing real‑world challenges. The teams are hosted and mentored by iTIC Incubator at IITH Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad Centre for Cellular and Molecular Platforms (C-CAMP) University of Hyderabad Foundation for Science, Innovation and Development, IISc Bangalore Indian Institute of Science (IISc) This week, participants have put the pedal to the metal in a Design Thinking Workshop facilitated by cool trainers of NXTGN - Cheng-Wen Jaw and Marlin Duerrschnabel - who have motivated and mentored them to ideate, refine, prototype and shape their solutions for impact in #healthcare, #infrasturcture, #energy, #AI and more.
