Welcome to Foundation for Science Innovation and Development (FSID). We are setup with a mission to ensure that scientific knowledge that exists within IISc is harnessed to help the industry and society at large. Here we strive to create and translate some of the finest original scientific knowledge and technology into a practical and valuable form in the real world. We approach this large and compelling task through four symbiotic entities that come together to compose FSID. CORE that engages with large corporations in collaborative research. STEM that incubates startups that have deep science and societal impact. SamridDHI PRMC 11. Hats off to the teams behind SamridDHI! Their three years of focused work has led them closer to import substitution of 8 critical products. A truly commendable achievement.
We are pleased to share key updates from the 11th PRMC meeting for the SamridDHI cohort. Through our collective efforts, the majority of the products have progressed to manufacturing stage. We have filed 39 IPs so far including 19 patents. Three of our industry partners have already entered the market, a significant milestone for the initiative. We extend our sincere gratitude to the Ministry Of Heavy Industries (MHI) for their continued support. We would especially like to thank Mr. Vipin Sondhi (PRMC Chairman) and the PRMC members Mrs. Ramya Malaraju, Mr. Partha Dasgupta, Mr. Tapan K. Beyond The Pitch Deck: DeepTech Immersive Workshop — Completed! Thrilled to share that we’ve successfully wrapped up our DeepTech Immersive Workshop, an intense, hands-on experience designed to help founders move far beyond the slide deck and into real-world commercialization readiness. This program was proudly organized by FSID under the NIDHI-PRAYAS scheme, supported by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India, with mentorship support from Ashok and Rohitt Hebaar (Aureivia) — enabling early-stage innovators to transform deep tech ideas into viable, scalable solutions. Over the past sessions, participants dove deep into: 🔹 Translating deep tech breakthroughs into compelling value propositions 🔹 Stress-testing commercialization pathways 🔹 Navigating investor expectations for technology-heavy ventures 🔹 Building robust market, IP, and go-to-market narratives 🔹 Crafting pitch strategies that communicate both science and scalability What made this workshop truly special was the energy, curiosity, and collaboration everyone brought. We had the privilege of hosting participants from the 𝗧𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗺 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱, a bilateral initiative fostering collaboration between innovators from 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗮 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗚𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘆. This program creates a unique platform for knowledge exchange, entrepreneurial learning, and cross-border partnerships. As part of the Bangalore cohort’s schedule, participants spent 𝘁𝘄𝗼 𝗱𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗮𝘁 𝗙𝗦𝗜𝗗, where they were introduced to 𝗙𝗦𝗜𝗗’𝘀 𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 and the 𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗠 𝗖𝗲𝗹𝗹 𝗱𝗲𝗲𝗽-𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝘂𝗯𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺. The Tandem Program offers researchers, entrepreneurs, and early-stage startup teams from both countries a two-week immersive experience at leading research incubators in India. During this period, participants work together to refine and advance high-potential, market-oriented innovation ideas. 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝘁 𝗙𝗦𝗜𝗗: o Dinesh Kumar S (STEM Cell) presented an overview of FSID and its incubation model. o Dr. Cv Natraj conducted an insightful and interactive mentoring session with the participants. o Mr. Ramanathan V conducted a practical workshop on effective communication for innovators and startup teams.
