Last week, some of our team had the pleasure of volunteering at the FareShare kitchen in Abbotsford. The RPS team spent a wholesome morning in the FareShare kitchen preparing food that contributed to 7,486 meals for people who need it most. It was a rewarding experience for everyone involved - meaningful work, great company, and plenty of fun along the way. FareShare operates Australia’s largest non-profit kitchens, transforming rescued, donated, and homegrown produce into millions of nutritious meals that help support dignity and wellbeing across the community. Major upgrade works are underway on the R498 Nenagh to Thurles regional road at Latteragh, Co. Tipperary 🛣️ We were delighted to attend the recent contract signing for the appointment of Wills Bros Group as the Main Contractor to the R498 Latteragh Realignment Scheme. This is a critical safety scheme for Tipperary on a key arterial route through the county. On behalf of our client Tipperary County Council, Tetra Tech RPS has guided the project through the detailed design and tender process. Gisteren in ons pand in Utrecht: een volle zaal, scherpe vragen en waardevolle inzichten. Bestuurders, warehouse managers en HSE-verantwoordelijken kwamen samen voor een kennissessie over ethyleenoxide (EtO). Een schadelijk gas dat wordt gebruikt voor de sterilisatie van medische producten, maar in een warehouse nog maandenlang kan uitdampen. Onzichtbaar, maar niet zonder risico. En streng gereguleerd. Als contentpartner van Euromate organiseerden we deze sessie om praktische antwoorden te geven op urgente vragen. Hoe gevaarlijk is EtO voor medewerkers? Wat zijn mijn verplichtingen als werkgever? Hoe kan ik blootstelling meten en beperken? Voorafstaande experts gaven heldere inzichten en praktische handvatten om aan de wet te voldoen en medewerkers te beschermen. Sophia Franklin, klinisch arbeidsgeneeskundige, maakte duidelijk hoe zelfs lage concentraties EtO al tot gezondheidsklachten kunnen leiden. En waarom langdurige blootstelling serieus genomen moet worden. Huib Lebbing, advocaat en partner bij Houthoff, ging in op de juridische zorgplicht van werkgevers, en hoe het naleven van de wet helpt om aansprakelijkheid te voorkomen. Erik van Deurssen, arbeidshygiënist bij RPS, liet zien hoe je EtO in de praktijk meet, monitort en structureel terugdringt met slimme, haalbare oplossingen. Tijdens de netwerklunch werden vervolgens volop kennis en ervaring gedeeld. Want één conclusie stond vast: Zorgplicht stopt niet bij de voordeur van je warehouse. 👉 Twijfel over een gezonde en veilige werkomgeving? Neem geen risico. Earlier this week, our Birmingham Planning team joined Shoosmiths to host a Strategic Land Seminar in their stunning city centre offices 💬 It was a timely opportunity to discuss the evolving strategic planning landscape. There was real positivity in the room about the direction of travel, particularly around the growing collaboration across the West Midlands, while recognising there's still work to do as we move towards the next stages of reform.
