(Warning, sensitive themes) I’m pleased and proud to share that this year, The SR Group has assembled a fantastic 5 a side team to play in the Business Fives London Football Event 2025 and raise money for a cause very close to my heart, Movember. (https://uk.movember.com/) Although they do excellent work to support men’s health (specifically prostate & testicular cancer), we have decided to donate to the cause area of mental health and suicide prevention. It’s International Men’s Day today, so a timely day to remember that globally, on average, one man dies by suicide every minute of every day. An unbelievable yet sadly accurate statistic. Whilst of course the sensitive and incredibly complex subject of suicide isn’t exclusive to men, the rate of male suicide is alarmingly high: 3 out of 4 suicides in the UK are by men. We need to do as much as we can to continue to break the stigma around men’s mental health, raising awareness, encouraging conversation, and contributing to the cause wherever possible. Movember looks at mental health through a male lens, focusing on prevention, early intervention, and health promotion. If there's one thing Movember is best known for, it's growing a moustache as a symbol for better men’s health. It also grabs attention and starts important conversations so the team will all be sporting a range of horrendous looking tashes on game day! Last Thursday marked a special milestone - our first joint London event since the pandemic, hosted with our specialist brands Brewer Morris, Carter Murray, Frazer Jones and Taylor Root.
