Last week, members of the TIG team had the privilege of joining an incredible group of peers and partners on a visit to one of our forests in Mato Grosso do Sul. This site, Project Alpha, was the first investment we made under our Latin America reforestation strategy in collaboration with Conservation International. This trip was a unique opportunity to showcase firsthand how we integrate high-impact restoration of threatened ecosystems with commercial investment at a transformative scale, demonstrating the potential of nature-based solutions to deliver both environmental and financial value. Spanning over 24,000 hectares, Project Alpha has made remarkable progress in its first three years. We have planted millions of trees, significantly boosted local employment, and begun restoring thousands of hectares of native Cerrado forest, positioning it as one of the most ambitious single restoration efforts in the Brazilian Cerrado. A special thanks to Mauricio Bianco, Carlos Guerreiro, Gerrity Lansing, Mark Wishnie, and Maria Clara Uquillas for guiding the tour and sharing their expertise, insights, and passion for the work we are doing on the ground, and to IFC - International Finance Corporation, GenZero, NZ Super Fund, and all of the partners and collaborators who make this work possible.
