Have you heard of #LungNodules? They’re small areas of dense, rounded lung tissue that go undetected for most people, although they’re often found during imaging tests, like a computerized tomography (CT) scan or an X-ray. While generally these nodules are not cancerous, the American Lung Association stresses the importance of getting them checked, as they could be an early sign of lung cancer. You may have a higher risk of developing lung nodules if you’ve had any of the following: 🦠Bacterial or viral infections 🏭Exposure to air pollution 🫁Chronic inflammatory conditions 🚬Tobacco use 🎗️Cancer If you think you may be at risk or if you’re having symptoms, talk with your doctor. #ImproveMoreLives #LungCancerAwarenessMonth

When minutes matter, access matters. In 2024, HCA Healthcare teams cared for over nine million emergency patients. That level of access is made possible by our more than 170 freestanding emergency rooms (FSERs) nationwide, alongside ERs at our 191 hospitals. These FSERs deliver hospital-level emergency care – including advanced imaging, on-site labs and highly specialized physicians and nurses – in convenient community locations. 📍 Spotlight: TriStar Nolensville ER Located just south of Nashville in one of Tennessee’s fastest-growing areas, this new 11,000-square-foot FSER opened on Oct. 23 and features 11 private treatment rooms. Designed to meet the needs of a growing community, it provides expert emergency care right where it’s needed most. As a part of HCA Healthcare | TriStar Division's family, the TriStar Nolensville ER is one of 10 FSERs serving our Tennessee and Kentucky communities, with four in development. This fully-integrated extension of the emergency room (ER) at TriStar Southern Hills Medical Center helps to ensure seamless admission to the hospital if inpatient care is required. As part of the recent rebrand of HCA Healthcare facilities in the Lowcountry – located along South Carolina’s coast – colleagues from HCA Healthcare Trident Hospital, HCA Healthcare Summerville Hospital, HCA Healthcare Colleton Hospital and the HCA Healthcare | South Atlantic Division generously served their local communities last month. In support of HCA Healthcare’s commitment to advancing health, wellness and community care across the Charleston region, HCA Healthcare and the HCA Healthcare Foundation donated a total of $220,000 to local nonprofits including the Lowcountry Food Bank, Bundles of Joy -Diaper Bank of the Lowcountry, NAMI Charleston Area and In His Name - Colleton. That commitment didn’t stop there – colleagues from HCA Healthcare Trident Hospital rolled up their sleeves to sort more than 15,000 pounds of food, helping deliver 35,000 meals to seniors across 10 counties. Every day, we stand ready to fight for healthier tomorrows for stroke patients – but this time, the fight was for one of our own. Earlier this year, Chris Hayes – pharmacist at HCA Healthcare affiliate Johnston Willis Hospital for nearly 25 years – faced the unimaginable. After a routine trip to the gym, Chris experienced a strange sensation in his arm, blurred vision then collapsed in a grocery store parking lot. He was having a stroke. Chris was rushed to the same hospital where he’s dedicated his career to helping patients. Acting quickly, his care team removed a life-threatening clot and created a personalized recovery plan tailored just for Chris – complete with therapy using pretend pill bottles and his favorite songs so he could hum along. Four months later, Chris returned to the pharmacy, ready to serve alongside his colleagues who became his "why" during recovery. Every 40 seconds, someone in the U.S. has a stroke. It’s the No. 5 cause of death – but it’s preventable and treatable. Chris’s story illustrates the critical importance of swift medical response and expert stroke care and rehabilitation. 💙 Join us in celebrating Chris and the incredible team behind his recovery – and learn more about his story: https://bit.ly/4prBS8O #CareLikeFamily #HealthierTomorrrows

We asked Dr. Kjersti Aagaard, maternal fetal medicine physician and national physician advisor at HCA Healthcare to break down one of the most common questions families face: why are babies born early. Prematurity affects 1 in 10 babies in the US, and the reasons behind early births are complex and often shaped by many factors. Together with HCA Healthcare, we’re working to ensure families get the care and support they need during one of the most critical times in their lives. Join us and HCA Healthcare in raising awareness this Prematurity Awareness Month at marchofdimes.org/pam #PrematurityAwarenessMonth #marchofdimespartner

Knowledge is power. And when it comes to ovarian cancer, talking with your doctor can make all the difference. Ovarian cancer may not be common, but it's the deadliest gynecologic cancer, largely because the disease can often go undetected in its earlier stages. Dr. Steffanie Owens, a gynecologic oncologist with Virginia Gynecologic Oncology, an affiliate of HCA Healthcare's Sarah Cannon Cancer Network at Henrico Doctors Hospital recently joined the American Medical Association (AMA) to share what patients need to know about ovarian cancer. Read more as AMA shares how through education and early conversations - we can help change how ovarian cancer is understood and managed: https://bit.ly/47OqdLh. #ImproveMoreLives
