Yesterday, Senior Advisor to the Governor, Rocky Adkins, and Pre-K for All Executive Director, Sam Flynn, spoke to the Kentucky Workforce Innovation Board about how Pre-K for All will help Kentucky build the workforce of the future. With Pre-K for All we will see up to 70,000 Kentucky parents rejoin the workforce, and the data shows that by giving kids a strong start in life, we increase their likelihood of going to college, living a healthy life, and building a strong career.

The Advisory Committee saw that making Pre-K for All work for everyone will require a system that is transparent, responsive, effective, and accountable. Right now, in Kentucky, we have gaps in our data collection. By building a coordinated system to track progress we will make sure that all of our kids are getting the education they deserve, and taxpayers across the Commonwealth will know their dollars are making a real difference.

The Pre-K for All Advisory Committee saw that, in states like Alabama, having uniform quality standards for preschool expansion across all provider types means that no matter where our kids go to preschool, they will be able to learn and grow.
