Construction is underway on the Universidad de Lima's new Academic Library 🏗️ A key component of our campus master plan for one of Peru's top universities, the library will serve as a programmatic anchor for the campus's central green, which also includes the Engineering Innovation Center and the Recreation, Wellness, and Student Life Center. Designed as a collaborative, community-oriented destination, the library supports the university's evolution as a leading institution in Latin America, making it better equipped to serve a growing student population and expanded research and graduate programs. 📸 1, 3, 4: Antonio Furukawa 📸 2: Kevin Fu

Sustainable park stewardship starts with the right tools. In 2021, Sasaki and the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) partnered to release Climate.Park.Change, a toolkit to help park professionals access regionally specific information on environmentally sustainable park management. This month, we’ve released an update to the toolkit that expands its reach to the continental U.S. and includes the “Environmentally-Friendly Park Management.” The guide represents the first national review of sustainable park operations in the United States, compiling a literature review, a survey of over 150 park professionals, numerous interviews, and twenty-eight case studies. Great urban design isn't just about the physical realm—it's about understanding lived experiences, demographics, and how communities evolve. With a background in sociology and deep interest in how urban spaces function, planner and associate principal Margit Liander brings this people-first approach to every project at Sasaki. "I first really want to understand who the people are, who the community is, where they are coming from in terms of lived experience, and how the place has evolved demographically, socioeconomically, and politically," she explains in our latest Designer Spotlight. Read more about how Margit balances community needs and institutional aspirations with long-term resilience and growth ➡️ https://lnkd.in/esbQXRkx #UrbanPlanning #CampusPlanning

Situated between The Lawrenceville School's museum space and visual arts studios, the Gruss Center for Art and Design (GCAD) is a contemporary makerspace that bridges academic programs. The building creates a new level of transparency into campus activity, balancing the masonry of the existing buildings with glass and steel. Through its open sightlines and collaboration spaces, GCAD underscores the value of connection and curiosity in the creative process. Learn more about the inspiration and vision behind this flexible, innovative space from Sasaki associate principal and project lead Marta Guerra-Pastrián in our latest project deep-dive.

Sasaki is proud to be serving as the master plan architect alongside the Denver Broncos on the team’s new stadium and mixed-use community. This is a generational opportunity for the City of Denver, the State of Colorado, and Broncos Country. “The redevelopment of Burnham Yard to be the home for the new Broncos Stadium represents city building at its best. The historic train yard in the center of Denver will be transformed into a new thriving neighborhood that celebrates the past and welcomes a vibrant future where people can live, work, and celebrate. New housing, entertainment, and public realm will welcome all. Sasaki, serving as the master plan architect, is committed to the remarkable vision set forth by the Walton-Penner Family Ownership Group and the Denver Broncos.” says Principal Josh Brooks. As the 2025 Venice Architecture Biennale draws to a close this month, we’re taking a closer look at “BeLieving in the Mountains,” an immersive project that investigates the critical intersection of climate change, depopulation, and cultural heritage in the Dolomite municipality of Cibiana di Cadore. In our latest Voice post, Sasaki principal Mary Anne Ocampo and designer Cale Wagner share their insights on the project and reflect on how this experience can better inform climate-focused work within the practice. “By amplifying local stories and knowledge, we strengthen the capacity of communities like Cibiana to shape their own futures, and in turn, the insights gained through academic inquiry expand the tools and strategies we bring into professional practice,” Mary Anne explains. “BeLieving in the Mountains” was developed in collaboration with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Università Iuav di Venezia, Comune di Cibiana di Cadore, and Studio RO. The project was featured in the 19th International Architecture Exhibition, curated by architect Carlo Ratti. Project collaborators include Mary Anne Ocampo, Rebecca Ocampo, Laura Fregolent, Cale Wagner, and Sabrina Meneghello. Read more in our deep-dive on the project on our blog: https://lnkd.in/eGReW2WA

Ten years ago, the Bruce C. Bolling Building opened its doors in Boston’s Roxbury neighborhood, marking a new chapter for Nubian Square. The project brought together the City of Boston - Planning Department, Sasaki, and Mecanoo to design a new type of civic space—one that united Boston Public Schools administration under one roof and merged dedicated community spaces with ground floor retail in the geographic heart of the city. To celebrate this anniversary, Sasaki principal Victor Vizgaitis sat down with Boston’s Chief of Planning, Kairos Shen, to reflect on the project’s journey from early vision to reality and its lasting influence on the community today.

The City of Denver of Denver just celebrated the opening of a new public space: Park Hill Golf Course is officially now Park Hill Park! At 155 acres, Park Hill Park is Denver’s fourth-largest regional park and marks the largest acquisition of private land ever made by the City to create a public park. Sasaki has partnered with the City and Denver Parks & Recreation to develop a framework plan, unveiled at the Hiawatha Rec Center on September 13, that builds on eight months of community collaboration. The plan envisions a resilient civic landscape that balances opportunities for recreation, connection with nature, and gathering as a community. 📸 Courtesy of Denver Parks and Recreation
