A survey by Priory Healthcare found that: 32% of men cite work pressure as their biggest mental health challenge 40% have never spoken to anyone about their struggles 77% have experienced symptoms of poor mental health These numbers show why open conversations, supportive workplaces, and accessible mental health resources are essential. 🧠 𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗞𝗻𝗼𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗗𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀 We often use mental health and mental illness interchangeably, but they’re not the same. Understanding the difference is key to reducing stigma and supporting real well-being at work. 🔹 Mental health = our emotional, psychological, and social well-being. 🔹 Mental illness = a diagnosed condition like depression or anxiety. 🔹 You can have good mental health while living with a mental illness, and vice versa. This distinction helps leaders and workplaces take proactive, compassionate action — building cultures that support people before they reach crisis. 👉Read more from AWCBC: https://lnkd.in/g-BwA_SB #MentalHealth #WorkplaceWellness #Leadership #WCB #AWCBC

Raising mental health awareness in the workplace or community can take many forms. One effective approach is simply checking in with colleagues. Just because someone is smiling does not mean they are happy. A simple conversation can make a significant difference, creating an environment where individuals feel comfortable opening up about their mental health. This can motivate someone to seek help or explore other avenues for support. Fostering open dialogue around mental health is essential for creating a supportive atmosphere. #MentalAwareness💚
